Given J. K. Rowling's extensive history of openly transphobic views, on top of the racism that permeates within the source material itself, we have no interest in hosting discussion of her works, including any other associated media under the Harry Potter license. Most notably for a forum predominantly focused on video games, this includes the 2023 release Hogwarts Legacy, or any other past (and future) titles based on the property. Please see this thread for more information on the content ban. If you are interested in learning more about the sordid history of the author, this article provides a good summary.

Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 and CD Projekt Red are both connected to a history of transphobia. In regards to the developer, they have made two transphobic tweets - one from the official CP2077 account, and one from their launch platform GOG.com. When it comes to the game itself, it contains a myriad of transphobic elements that are of deep discomfort to trans people and the wider trans community, from its offending elements to outright fetishization. Cyberpunk 2077 is a transphobic game - something that isn't up for debate - and therefore, it is a banned subject on Famiboards in the interest of keeping the site safe and inclusive. This ban extends to discussion and promotion of the game itself, sequels and spinoffs, and other related and future spinoff media including Cyberpunk Edgerunners. The forum culture and typical content produced by 4chan is at odds with Famiboards values in numerous ways, to where we hope this one is self-explanatory. Insider Gaming
Tom Henderson, writer for and owner of video game news / rumor site Insider Gaming, engaged in ableist language and generally dismissive commentary surrounding the launch of the aforementioned Hogwarts Legacy. It is clear that his values and ours are not in alignment, and as such, Famiboards will not be directly hosting articles from the Insider Gaming site, nor tweets from the Insider Gaming Twitter account (@InsiderGamingIG) or Tom Henderson's own account (@_Tom_Henderson_).

Zippo
Widely regarded dubious insiders like Zippo with abysmal track records are already banned from having threads centered on their content on Famiboards, and are banned from threads like Future Nintendo Hardware that have higher sourcing standards. Zippo however, is banned from the site as a whole, due to his long running history of antagonism towards the community dating back to Nintendo Era that has continued forward. We have seen firsthand on his blog where he has name dropped and made extensive insults towards active Fami members. This ban won’t be as heavily moderated as other more serious topics, but we ask all the same do not bring Zippo and his content to Famiboards due to how he has hurt our members.

AI generated art, images, videos, text, etc.
AI art content is generated through neural networks trained on the work of human artists. In the overwhelming majority of cases, said artists did not provide their consent, and are not credited nor compensated for this. Famiboards will not support AI art theft, and as such, posting or promoting AI art content is prohibited. Additionally, Famiboards does not support posts or threads generated entirely or primarily by AI, as we come to Famiboards to engage with real humans.

To be clear if it's not, I am black. I wasn't trying to hide it or trick anyone. I thought it was clear.


And to be even more clear, I have done my part keep Hip-Hop culture alive and well for the next generations but this thread does not address my actual point. The online discourse is one thing but are the people that are in the b-boy/b-girl ciphers, doing the graffiti etc...is this real with those people? But as I read this thread I find that this point is moot. This is hyper-focus on a pop star who raps and an emcee who was in the halftime show at the superbowl.

She wasn't black but she grew up around black people. So somehow she felt like she was black or atleast that's how it would appear during any black culture or pop culture event. All her statements were always her or her perception of black and never the actual issue. And for a bit I thought she knew black people because she would say things and know things you'd only know being around other black folx. But the reality was it was only a thin veener of understanding black people/experience/history/culture. She never read an essay, never watched a non comedy black movie, let alone make the effort to goto a black museum. Turns out her knowledge and position on black people came from her having alot sex with black people.

When I called her out on it, it felt like was accusing a war veteran of stolen valor. Just weird stuff, and from what I'm reading I'm getting that vibe from you. I'm sorry.

So I ask directly what work besides living have you done on Black People to give you the gumption to make this thread lol.

I grew up around Hmong people and not nary a time have I ever thought to center a Chinese culture discussion about me. For me if I cared enough about something I'd google it first, then maybe just email a professor at my local college. It's free and they usually answer during office hours.

Against this background, the document recognises that many trans youth will have sourced hormone treatment from “unregulated providers or unregulated sources.” It states that the largest “unregulated provider” is a service called GenderGP, which it says is “registered overseas and is therefore outside the reach of the UK health regulators.” Good Law Project holds no brief for GenderGP but obviously “registered overseas” is not the same as “unregulated.” Nevertheless, the document seems to treat the two as one and the same.

IE: Don't take drugs from external sources that aren't proper for you the patient and haven't gone through our drug regulation. It could kill you.

At the assessment, providers are asked to “advise” the child or young person and their parent/carer not to take puberty blockers or gender-affirming hormones obtained through these routes without appropriate care. NHS England does not identify what “appropriate care” is and it is hard to see what available care it would describe as regulated.

Providers are told not to prescribe or to stop prescribing puberty blockers or gender-affirming hormones. IE if you put your kids in harm they can be taken from them as you aren't keeping them safe and instead introducing them to more harms.

Back on topic. Hip Hop, unlike R&B, was created in a multicultural area in the Bronx. Which was poorer area. Black people don't own it and never have. There's elements to it that are completely being ignored just due to some of your entitlement opinions. The street parties that were started were neighborhood unifiers that brought everyone together. At its best, hip hop is the American dream of the have nots making it from bullshit circumstances. Hip hop at its best, shines a spotlight on the forgotten people and gives them an outlet to tell their stories. I love hip hop. From Drake to Jake the Flake. To X-Clan to Project Pat. Kendrick to Nas. Kodak Black to Larry June. All this artists I mentioned are only one aspect of Hip hop. B-Boying and Grafiti Writing are very important aspects as well. Techno and House music in my opinion is more solely Black Culture than Hip Hop. I don't see people getting defensive over that.

Here's an opportune moment to speak on racial regional differences.

Because I've seen a lot of people say things akin to "What's the big deal? You're all Black. Drake is Black."

And no. That's not the issue, entirely.

And since people want to use me as an example, I'll use myself as an example.

I, Royalan, am Black. That gives me a breadth of common threads across the diaspora.

I am also Black American. That narrows it down. That means while I can often still see the connective tissue between me and another Black person hailing from somewhere else on the globe, there are likely going to be stark differences in experience between say me and another Black American, versus me and a Black Brit.

And because outside of its global influence, the United States itself is a large and populous country, that means there are varied and stark differences between states and regions. Which is to say, while I am a Black American, I am more specifically a Black American from the West Coast. Inglewood, to be exact. Born and raised.

That means that, as BLACK as I am, whenever I got to NY and socialize (which is always in predominantly Black spaces), it takes all of five minutes of conversation before someone says to me, "...you not from here, are you?" And that is because, as BLACK as I am, I'm am still from another region, over 3,000 miles and several founding countries away. My style is different; my accent is different; my cultural references (and cultural understanding!) is different. It doesn't matter that we're all Black, it doesn't matter that I'd still relate to them better than a non-black person; there are still cultural differences that within the community are going to be recognized and called out. And so I respect that, in much that same way that a when a wearing-timbs-in-the-summertime-ass-nigga from NY comes to LA, we ALL know!

And so bringing this back to Aubrey.

It does not matter that he is Black. When he does his Deebo from Friday routine, Californians see the fraudulence. We he tries act like he has Atlanta cred, Black folks from Atlanta who call him out SEE THE FAUDULENCE. Does that mean he's not Black? No. Does that paradoxically mean that he's treating Blackness as a universal costume? YES. Like...the fuck?
