I haven't messed with Garry's Mod, so I don't know how it works -- isn't there a Safe Harbor exclusion if it's just stuff other people add to their distribs?

From what I understand it's all just seperate items on the workshop which differ from entire maps and mods to just seperate characters and items.
So you download a Mario, a Yoshi a Swastika and a Rocket Launcher etc. . Literally anyone can add anything and name it whatever they like. So some Mario stuff might as well be called Italian Plumber Man or whatever.

It's going to be a nightmare to look for Nintendo copyrighted material in all 1 808 773 workshop entries I imagine.

Like... literally as long as I can remember every time there is a generational platform jump approaching, its the same old development story of "Well, yes, its going to be more expensive and time consuming to make games for next generational hardware, but we reckon using new techniques and processes to alleviate that, we figure it will only double our existing budget" and then Every. Single. Time. it works out at being 4-5 times an increase in budget and workload.

AI is just the new 'cutting edge tools and processes' magic bullet that they expect will reduce workloads by 80% and will maybe work out at a 5-10% saving.

Microsoft paid $70+ billion for acquisitions. It is doubtful that even in 10 years Xbox can make that money back because of all the operating expenses of running the business.
They believe there is a level between Indie and AAA that works and Nintendo operates on but that would never work for Microsoft because they need much bigger numbers.
The people in charge 8 layers above the studios don't give a shit about the history of studios like ID Software they just look at the spreadsheets.

Corporate has mandated that the division cannot run at a loss and it can not decrease margins. 
So the only thing Xbox can do is keep cutting costs and consolidating. They expect the hammer to come down hard in July after the FY report in June.

Xbox at this size simply doesn't make any sense from a business perspective anymore and they don't really see a way out of this death spiral.

Procedural generation is just basic AI.
