Which as always, is a useless metric especially as it pertains to nerdy media that is targeted by the cavalcade of jobless grifters whose only source of income is making sure that their audience of cis white dudes stays angry at the marginalized.

Nepenthe wrote:Okay, so I didn't think we would have to issue bans in a thread about a racist. Like, I had a potentially naive hope that Era could navigate that discussion without issue until I woke up this morning. But I feel it's important enough in this instance to explain why we did so.

Simply put, Black suffering is expected. It is not just made invisible or downplayed; we collectively expect Black people to physically and psychologically suffer in all manner of ways, and we host this expectation without any regard for the possibility of Black people fighting back. Look at the innumerable conflicts and genocides in African communities and diasporas we do not actually talk about compared to other countries and communities. Look at the ways in which we reflexively appeal to pacificism when Black people are attacked.

You may ask, well why do we do this? It is because Black suffering is a significant material basis for the way in which our society functions. The US and Western Europe, and you could make the argument current world affairs as a whole, literally cannot exist as they do today if it is not on the back of centuries of brutal suffering and exploitation of the African peoples. And from this material basis emerges centuries of cultural justifications for it: rampant dehumanization, myths about our pain tolerance, or even just an inability to give a damn or becoming numb to seeing it over and over again.

So, in a conversation where someone rightfully points out that the only person in this situation who actually got hands put on them is a Black man, that while the white girl has endured emotional suffering, the Black man has endured both the physical and the emotional trauma of the moment...why would you get mad at that? What is it in you that is offended when someone points out that the Black person was the biggest victim in a given situation, and that his pain has been collectively overlooked? Why was it overlooked? Would you have overlooked it if it was another minority?

I have made no bones about how I feel about the political inclinations of this forum, but this is a moment to lay them bare: Era has light years to go when it comes to just seeing Black people as people worthy of protection from violence, as people who do not deserve to have to take violence from white people "with grace and dignity" by just not doing anything about it because that disturbs the status quo, to fundamentally understand that Black people's suffering is- unlike most other groups- uniquely and fundamentally paramount to the maintenence of Western supremacy, and that there are long conversations about the contradictions that exist to be had if you in any way consider yourself an anti-racist ally.

Sorry. You don't and never will have any ground to stand on to get in your feelings that someone pointed out that you had more sympathy for a white girl who was embarrassed than a Black man who was physically assaulted. Not until this system is broken. Take this time to do some questioning and introspection.

essentially yes. in the storyline there was some kind of superstition in their town that male twins brought bad luck so bridgets parents made them pretend to be a girl. some other stuff is involved but basically bridget leaves the town to get a bunch of money and prove male twins aren't bad luck.

in strive it was retconned to now she's trans. which is fine ig, the same guy wrote both stories so he just changed his mind or w/e.
they are literally fucking anti-white. full stop they hate white people and want bad things to happen to them. its awful how they say the girl will just get over it but the grown man is a bigger victim, that girl could kill herself over how embarassing that once in a lifetime moment was and they dont care, you cant even bring it up without being called racist but if that girl was trans then what?

that site should be being watched as an extremist site
Sleep away camps story is that Angela, her? Sister and dad were swimming in a lake. Her sister and dad were killed by teens in a boat running them over. Angelas aunt adopted her, and already had a son so raised Angela as a girl. It’s a strange twist reveal at the end of the movie after she’s gone on a murderous rampage killing everyone that wrongs her by nearly revealing the truth at the end of the movie. With it freeze framing on her holding a decapitated head and packing a giant shlong. Calling it a pro trans movie makes no sense to me but people have been trying

Because it's not objectifying and exploiting trans women like Cyberpunk 2077.

I would not mind that much if the character was not hyper fetishized to begin with since their conception. Testament feels way more honest in the Queer representation part.

Angela's the villain, but there's such a thing as sympathetic villain - most people have sympathy for Mrs. Voorhees having had her son drown in Friday the 13th, for instance.

Sleepaway Camp is pro-trans, full-stop.
SCIENCE!

How is that ProTrans? Angela was a biological male forced to be a girl, not a biological girl with gender dysphoria that is forced to be a girl.

Exactly, I mean Ree is fine with Gullty Gear's Bridget who was a boy that got groomed to be a girl yet they see her as their icon.

Didn't the "Horse mouth " tell you that next Xbox will also be able to run PlayStation games through Steam, so MS can "attack" the exclusive market and sell their stuff anywhere without backlash, while giving a lot of value to their hardware and OS?
Because next Xbox "high end" machines will rely more on the OS and its capabilities than anything else. They want to push Sony really hard to leave exclusives too, whether they want it or not.
Microsoft will merge a lot of Windows and Xbox features to create the first and true "consolized" PC.
