In the thread I got banned in for calling somebody accused of noncing a cunt, another guy was blaming the victims. Literally victim blaming. I pointed this out in a sternly written appeal for my ban. For which the 'Resetera team' told me to report the post if I have a problem. They did this knowing it is not possible to report a post whilst you are banned. I alerted them of this flaw and had my 'ticket' rejected. Cunts. Cunts. Cunts.

For something recent and concrete here's a review of the available evidence when it comes to trans women competing in elite sport, commissioned by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport and published in November 2022:

There is currently no substantial research evidence of any biological advantages that would impede the fairness of trans women competing in elite women's sport. There currently exists no evidence to suggest that trans women who elect to suppress testosterone (through, for example, gender affirming hormone therapy and/or surgical gonad removal) maintain disproportionate advantages over cis women indefinitely. More specifically, current evidence suggests any biological advantages trans women have in sport performance do not fall outside the range observed among cis women after testosterone suppression.

This premise of this is that something everyone knows is true cannot be true because nobody has ever measured it in a study. Even though the premise of this "evidence"  is itself false as hormone levels measured at any individual moment in time don't determine your sex.

What threatens women's elite sport, for cis and trans women, is not trans women, but is rather misogyny in the form of underfunding, non-parity in participation and leadership, inequitable sport space allocation/access, and a range of sporting opportunities not afforded to women (cis women and trans women) in equitable ways. Counter to these misplaced fears and in addition to the limited opportunities for women in sport, trans women also face overlapping systems of cissexism and transmisogyny (among others) in accessing sporting opportunities.

And this, of course, is irrelevant gibberish.

All of this is beside the fact that who the fuck is the Canadian Center for Ethics in Sport?

Born out of a landmark merger between the Canadian Centre for Drug-Free Sport and Fair Play Canada, the CCES is founded on the principles of fair play and drug-free sport. There is no such thing as discussion about things like gender classification in sports on era because anything other than 0 consideration of a transition is considered genocide.

Prior hormone exposure definitely has an impact on biology. Any GP MD is going to check blood pressure more often in men and those born men because the hormones has an effect on the flexibility of tissue. It's why men's gymnastics peaks earlier and is limited in motion more and why women have more injuries with joins dislodging in leg.

I don't personally know of peer reviewed studies indicating saying one way or another but I would be surprised if there wasn't a difference like your heart size is a huge factor in cycling and transitioning doesn't change that.

And I do think trans people get a lot of unwarranted shit from people, but damn the insufferable truthiness on there is immediately a nonstarter.

I'm 100% certain Trans-athletes would be respected much more if they had their own sporting events where they can showcase their athletic achievements on a level playing field.
