A hard lesson I've had to learn is that liberals and even leftists are not really all that smarter than the average population. They are not significantly less prone to media illiteracy. They are not significantly less prone to susceptibility to propaganda. They are not significantly less prone to social media addiction. They are not significantly less prone to reactionary tendencies. Rather, these trends and symptoms are a result of a a political and media environment preying upon a generalized human trend towards emotional outbursts, subjective biases, and pattern recognition that can be taken advantage of. The saying is not "advertising only works on conservatives." It's simply "advertising works." The fact that liberals and leftists, by and large, trend more towards more scientific and positive moral outlooks doesn't actually mean anything. We would do well to understand that having facts on our side means fuck all towards our ability to not fall prey to harmful ways of thinking and being, that we are not more human and less worthy of derision than people we disagree with, and to do away with the hubris that liberals know best and that everyone else is a low-information troglodyte who just needs to shut up and fall in line.

The quicker we get rid of the egos we have because we got some fucking college degree and agree with scientists, make a concerted effort to fight against media illiteracy and social media addiction, and start approaching people with empathy and compassion, then we will constantly be in situations where we are losing layup elections because we are alienating folks who should be on our side, like the poor, or Arabs, or trans people.

I'm prescribed Adderall, and I swear the manufacturer has diluted the active ingredient in the medicine since 2022. I'm prescribed max dose and it doesn't do a thing anymore. It's been making me miserable. The medicine just legit stopped working once they changed the formula. I told my dr and I'm looked at like I'm some drug addict, but I swear something is up here.

So I finally got prescribed Lisdexamfetamine for my ADHD. And I have to say I'm more focused throughout the work day, and I'm no longer talking a phone break every 5 minutes at work or while watching TV. In fact the first day of taking them my wife noticed that I cleaned the entire bathroom without taking a phone break once.

Now for those not well versed in ADHD, it is, in layman's terms a dopamine deficiency. Dopamine is good for brain health in general, but it's great for sleep health, and memory especially. And because of the lack of dopamine in an ADHD brain it causes the person to try and stimulate dopamine by any means necessary. Including embracing a phone addiction and doom scrolling etc.

The simple solution is to essentially "coke up" a person with a very specific, tested and professionally dosed amphetamine. This helps the brain release dopamine you neurotypicals take for granted. Such a dose to a neurotypical person would leave them high and over euphoric, thus why they're sought after on the black market.

Anyway most of you will probably know that already, but I know some don't realise, so I thought I'd provide an explanation.

In case anyone with ADHD has a heart condition, suffers from seizures or bipolar. There's a non amphetamine based ADHD medication, however it takes roughly a month or so for the drug to build up in your system enough to be effective.

Anyway I'm celebrating because the NHS is fucked right now, it took me three years to be diagnosed as an adult, and now the waiting list has shot up to seven in some places. I've had my entire life with undiagnosed, Inattentive ADHD.

I'm so glad I self diagnosed later in life because it pushed me to get an official diagnosis, and feel justified doing so, especially when it helped me understand why I was how I was. Don't tell anyone to tell you that self diagnosis is invalid. You know your mind and body more than anyone!

So fuck yeah, hooray for amphetamines! (under certain circumstances lol).

What are you talking about?  I'm sure they're taking their powerful and highly addictive "prescribed" drug for their "diagnosed" problems at the doctor recommended dosage, and not just crushing up multiple pills at a time and then posting a bunch of weird/creepy threads.
