I hear you. I've been a Democrat since I was literally in second grade (we were doing a civics project and I asked "which party is the one that likes war less?" and when the teacher said the Democrats I was like "Ok I'm one of those") and I've never even for a second considered changing parties. I even went to school fully intending to run for Congress when I was out of college before one of my professors talked me out of it due to my extremely loud atheism. My dad worked for Bernie on two separate campaigns. This shit has been in my blood for my whole life.

I think there are ways we can do better, but I'm always going to hope we can keep pushing and keep getting better. I really hope the messaging Kamala and Walz have resonates with people. Tonight seemed like one of those moments that could tectonically shake the landscape, but we gotta keep it up.

But since I want it to defend myself and my community if it comes to it, a full length rifle is not the most practical thing in the world. So I got a bullpup chassis to make it shorter and more maneuverable, and when I get it back from the coating shop it's gonna look like this:

They dressed up a fuckin' .22 rifle. It's like saying you bought a wiffle ball bat to defend yourself and your community. It's better than nothing and it stings when you get hit with one but there are far better choices. They should of spent that money on a AR-15 insted of putting all that junk on it and the trans paint job.

The only difference between this and an AR-15, really, is an AR-15 can, but doesn't have to, shoot larger bullets.

You don't need to buy a Barrett 50 cal. but my man, .22 is way too weak if this is for some "End of the World Mad Max" type shit. 

If they bought a .22 to get good at shooting they made a great choice. It's ammo is real cheap, so you can plink all day without spending $$$. But the AR or even a heavier cheap 7.62 AK would have made more sense. Both of those are ubiquitous with plenty of cheap parts that are plentiful.

Hachikoma, you are a moron. If your confidence in guns reflects your confidence and knowledge in other areas, you need to shut up.

For the record I own a 12 gauge pump shotgun (unloaded) and a .38 S&W revolver that stays loaded. I sold off all my other shit and kept those for the home defence role. You can leave the revolver loaded and not worry about jamming and if I have time to load the shotgun thats a good one to scare away most people when you rack it and point it at their face. Lol 

The .38 doesn't have the best stopping power but with hollow points it isn't too bad. I've seen too many semi autos jam after the first shot. Especially if you leave them lying around too long loaded because of mag spring fatiuge etc. There isn't any reason to have much more because if shit has gone so sideways that thats not enough I'm in more trouble than just a home invasion.
