Ultimately it’s an agenda to demonize a certain type of person on a forum. If somebody jumped to conclusions by defending a hetero white male, or woman they’d be banned for a month(Or permanently) because they were “dismissive”. If they were banned for the same reason, but defended POC you’d get two weeks. If it were a white male/female homosexual they’d get a one week ban. If it’s against a homosexual POC, well… Absolutely nothing. On Resetera they reversed the hierarchy of privilege. And that goes for several different severe crimes. If the sheep aren’t going with the script, well then “blame the system”. 

It’s all a game. But the mods pretend to be above calling it a game.

Edit: I just noticed something. I currently have 400+ posts since 2023. Benji has over 8,000 posts since 2023. Not only does Benji need to touch grass, but Benji is Excel.

I’m 31 and Going into my 3rd week since starting my hormones. But I realized today….. I have no one to talk to it about.

Over the past few years I have lost all my friends. Either we grew apart, they were terrible people, or they were transphobic.

But today was a day I just really wanted a needed a friend to talk to about all the emotions I was having. But…. There was no one there. I spent so much of my day just staring at my phone hoping someone would message me. But I would remember…. There was no one.

I have a husband and love him. But a spouse is not the same as friends unfortunately.

I try to go out and meet people. But other then the once a month drag shows. My community does not have anything for queer safe spaces. In my town you drink and you drink more.

When I was preparing my self to start HRT I never really thought about the fact I had no one to talk to about it.

In person I’m a very awkward, shy person. Due to many years of harassment and bullying it has become extremely difficult for me to really approach new people at all. I have been working on it but it’s slow progress.

It’s not any help that today my husband essentially told me “I’m bad at holding conversation” that honestly hurt.

I guess that’s all I have to say. I just needed to vent a moment.

What the dude did was arguably worse than what other creatives have done and got witch hunted for (I was remembering MikeZ being an asshole boss) but he was able to maintain a relatively good reputation. Even Royalan still wants to bat for him because “sexual liberation”.

I want to respectfully caution against this current track of conversation. With the caveat that multiple people in this thread have acknowledged either knowing or having first and/or secondhand accounts of DeMayo's behavior. I'm not ruling over them, I don't know him better than they do, and I absolutely respect their contribution to the discussion.

I just want to caution against the conflation of "sexual liberation" to "sexual predation." That conflation is often instinctual, but not often true. Sexual misconduct/assault, especially in the workplace, is sadly common. And oftentimes, it's committed by people who wouldn't consider themselves, or even be described as, "sexually liberal." In many cases, the opposite.

This is worth pointing out because the likening to predation is often used to stifle sex positive movements -- which range from the act of sex to non-heteronormative sexual and gender identity.

But he sold himself as that, you sold him as that: A sex positive creator that cannot fail that needed to maintain his queerness in check for working in a big ass corporation.

If it was a hetero dude being openly horny on social media you would already tried to cancel his show even before this revelations.

Sexual liberation is not reserved for queer people only.

This is by far the worst example of whitewashing, cultural erasure and racism I've seen in a big videogame and everyone just shrugs and keeps playing like nothing's happening, and then they'll gush how "talent won" when they make a thread about how the Pyron Archon's banner made a billion dollars or whatever.

I feel like just because it's a gacha game, 90% of Era will already dismiss it because, hey, it's predatory in concept, right? But this just creates an insane precent that the capitalist overlords can literally sell you everything from Africa and Latin America and then whitewash the people and it's all perfectly fine. Nevermind that this game is played by millions of people worldwide, just in younger demographics than your average Era user. It's not some niche thing, it's massive.

This is dystopic as hell. Like, Assassin's Creed making a game about an actual historical figure is somehow more controversial than the whitewashing of two entire continents. Man, the gaming community is just racist as fuck, isn't it.
