Fun fact: The rule about advocating for banning content is still nowhere to be found. Even the crappy "policy update thread" the mods begrudgingly made doesn't feature it.
Cut them some slack. They had to make sure to mention how it’s no longer acceptable to post a Bugs Bunny gif in Florida threads that it slipped through the cracks

I thought it was fine. Some users will be mad at the staff no matter what or how they post.
Natiko, post: 109595515, member: 2482 wrote:I honestly would prefer a user that is violating the rules to be punished over some weird, passive aggressive comment that (to call attention to my previous point) is not even highlighted in any meaningful way to help ensure future posters won’t violate it. In a week, B-Dubs warning post won’t be recent enough to mean literally anything. It wasn’t highlighted. Yet, someone that’s not just a moderator, but is actively a primary leader of the site, can just post some vaguely hostile shit and then dip, only to later punish posters for something they had no clear way of being aware of? That’s.. an approach.

User banned (duration pending admin review): Hostility towards staff. Community metacommentary. Violating thread rules.

It'd be great if someone leaked screenshots of Mods and their pets on discord talking shit about the user base again.

Frankly, the amount of outreach, justification, and pleasantries we're expected to perform on this large of a scale can get easily overwhelming in the vain of customer service work, which is especially notable since as far as I can tell the vast majority of social media website don't actually function this way. None of them have a group humans constantly reminding you about how to behave; instead, a bot shuffles you off when you break a rule and keeps it moving, or the mods just give far less of a shit than we do and don't bother talking.
So consider this yet another reminder that you have a decent team here who has been attempting for years to cooperate with its userbase far beyond what other teams would consider necessary or viable, and as a result a little terseness should be expected from time to time.

banning users is like pruning your rose bush, a little snip here and there to get rid of the bad buds and let the good ones flourish

What rule is Coyote talking about? It's no where in the ToS, it's in the constructive site that majority don't know about it.
