vanish is super easy, just press A + X or time the block button. That's it, literally.

Some of these what if requirements are terrible design. Entire scenarios should not be dependent on if the ai will follow the requirements or not. I'm talking specifically about Cell. He should not be activating solar flare when you're on the other side of the map nowhere close to him.

These are programmed in such a way that the AI will spam these attacks

I was planning on beating the story mode in the first few weeks of the game being out but it's straight up exhausting lol. I've had good times with it but I'm on Trunks (so I'm halfway done with the 8 stories) and I need ti take a break from that.

Was wondering why I kept screwing up the Z Burst. Game doesn't explain it, but you're not supposed to have the left stick pressed in any direction when you hold the right trigger and press the dash button.

Game explains everything in detailed tutorials, you can even have the CPU show you what to do.

Fighting Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan as Trunks to trigger that sparking Episode is impossible.....beating them in under 3 minutes.

Haven't gotten to this fight yet but 3 minutes seems plenty. Piccolo is weak af

Just started this and I'm really struggling to get the hang of it. The tutorials weren't helpful at all, the story mode throws super tough fights right off the bat at you and practice mode is kinda bad too.

It's a cool game, but it's not very novice-friendly.

Ok, I played it for 3 hours and now I can confidently say it: I don't like this game. That's a shame, fortunately for me, 1. I didn't buy it, 2. I've already bought some other games recently, like EDF World Brothers 2 which is surprisingly very fun.

For the curious, here's my review on Steam:

Lets cut to the chase: too difficult for a simple fan service game. I'm not playing this game to sweat but to have fun, alone or with my friends. If I wanted to play a difficult game, there are far better options for that, with better mechanics and better depth. They aren't DBZ games indeed, but Dragon Ball isn't an excuse to a poor thought game.

This game isn't balanced for multiplayer (the devs themselves said so), and some characters are broken, so it probably won't have a future as a e-sport game. The only thing for it is to be a fan service game. But then, they went out their way to give it an infuriating AI and overly complex mechanics. You can create a good system with depth without it being complicated, like in Virtua Fighter or for a better example, like in the Gundam Versus series, which is maybe the best arena fighter there is right now. Here, each buttons has 3 or more different actions depending on the context and it took me almost two hours to finish the tutorial. Complicated doesn't necessarily mean depth.

As for the single player mode, it is bland. It's a succession of pictures, with some voices here and almost no animations.

True, the roster is huge, the game is "beautiful" (except for the stages that use realistic textures that clash with the cell shaded characters), the stages are destructible and the gameplay is dynamic. But the AI and the numerous mechanics don't make me want to play the game. In the first two matches, the AI kept dodging all my attacks.

I could do some efforts to try to get better at it. I could also lower the difficulty but then I would lose access to the optional scenarios (nice example of inclusion there). Or I could just write a review to tell people to avoid this game and choose to play something else (fortunately for me, I didn't buy this game). There are already a game for the e-sport crowd, namely Dragon Ball FighterZ. This game should or could have been the nice and fun game. But that's not the case. To be honest, Xenoverse 2 is more fun, has a better story mode and has a better gameplay, without being too complicated. And it also already offers the possibility to avoid the trap of vanishing after vanishing after vanishing after vanishing, until someone has no ki left, like it always happens here.

I'm disappointed. Disappointed maybe, but my day won't be ruined and this game will probably find its fans, if it doesn't already have. Or maybe, that's just me and like Murtaugh in Lethal Weapon, "I'm too old for this ***."
