The Xbox stream was okay, but still no Halo 5 on PC. I'm not buying a damn Xbox One or Series X to play it.

It's so bizarre they have all of the other titles except that on Steam.

It's because Halo 4 and prior were all on the same engine, so they could have Saber+ write an entire framework for up-porting all of them. Halo 5 would have to be a straight port*. Infinite and forward was made with the PC already in mind.

They'll probably port it eventually. Halo 3 took twelve years to come to PC. Microsoft once suggested 1 and 2's PC ports were mistakes they weren't going to repeat. Now they give the entire MCC for $10 every sale.

*though Microsoft alleges that Xbone ports are pretty simple, near just different compiler runs, and I believe them considering what everyone else has said

That makes sense. I'm just hoping it comes out sooner than later. I could see it coming out next year with it being the 10 year anniversary of the game.

I'd rather have a bunch of remakes, remasters and ports instead of a bunch of new games at this point from most publishers. Especially with the cost of games here in Canada as new ones on the PS5 and even on Steam are $93.49 before tax. Remasters and remakes (some, not all) are priced better currently so that is my line of thinking.

Microsoft absolutely loves Steam, maybe the biggest publisher that does, even though they have the Microsoft Store. Halo 5's probably, like the earlier Forza's, just stuck in the backlog because it didn't have a PC version at the time. Unlike those they wouldn't have to spin the servers back up for it, so you have to assume it's just a matter of when not if.
