He did it because Kamala lied she had a job at McDonalds.

I don't even like trump but I feel like that's an extremely normal political stunt from the 90s and on some level it's endearing

"candidate does normie thing to prove he's just like you," you'd see it on both sides

I refuse to believe this isn't one big case of dinner for schmucks:

Quote:"My problem with the McDonald's / Trump staging … They closed the store. Folks lost wages for a guy that does not believe in paying overtime to hourly wages. He wasn't wearing gloves handling food. This is dumb," Tonya McKenzie, a public relations expert, wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

I don't buy this framing, because anyone who has ever lived anywhere near where a presidential candidate visits even briefly knows that literally everything in the area shuts down as law enforcement does their sweep, they'll block off entire roads

it's likely that everywhere kamala goes, nearby businesses close for the day

Staging drive thru customers.

Maybe they've been doing it all these years for visits and been really good at it. Speaks even more to how shoddy his detail and teams are.

Honestly don’t understand why fellow libs are getting so very mad over this. It’s his most innocuous stunt this cycle. Like the dumb shit about Obama’s tan suit, the fixation on trivial matters doesn’t really serve anybody except the most indoctrinated. There’s really no shortage of legitimate avenues to go after Trump to be doing this ethics in fast food photo ops thing.

two sides of the same retarded coin.

Any sane person would be happy to see Trump doing shit like this, even if you don't like him. More run-of-the-mill politico behaviors from Trump, please! I'd love to only have to concern myself with a pair of normie candidates once again, for the first time since what...Obama/Romney?

The Democrats exploding over the McDonalds event is just part of their overall frustration that Trump is walking away with this thing.

They don't understand how this is happening.

Reading "This is the great work of the American people" in relation to McDonalds of all places rings extremely, unironically true for me. I think I'm getting senile.

Right?

I don't get why they're so angry over it. Well, that's not entirely true. Back in 2016 and onward certain people were really convinced that Jimmy Fallon touching Trump's hair won him the election. Something about normalizing him or whatever nonsense they ran with. Maybe there is the fear that Trump seeming relatively normal is somehow more dangerious, in their weird world view.

(relatively normal is key. Trump got fixated on human hands never touching the french fries.)

The Jimmy Fallon thing could be explained by two factors:
  1. No one really knew what trump was going to govern like...maybe he was going to be Hitler Stalin Sr. and reduce the population of the United States by 3/4s via systemic killings! While also starting global nuclear war and enslaving the remaining survivors of Earth.
  2. Jimmy Fallon was doing the normalizing, not Trump so much. Like when you feed your toddler via the airplane method...can you really give them credit for "eating dinner"? Those toddlers are CHEATING.
This McD's thing is at least trump's idea (I'm curious how this all went down internally with McDonald's corporate???), and I can never take any warnings about Trump's Official Platform of Global Life Extinction seriously ever again after FOUR years of him as president.

The joy is gone Trumps

You can see it on their faces, they know they are losing.

It's very weird that they send me all these ads warning me about Trump wanting to eliminate abortion and do Project 2025. Then we're hanging out with Liz Cheney who supports both of those.

https://www.axios.com/2024/10/18/senate-democrats-campaign-ads-trump-2024
Quote:Sens. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisc.) and Bob Casey (D-Penn.) both released ads on Friday that include images of Trump — and not to bash him, according to an Axios analysis of ads in AdImpact.

"Casey bucked Biden to protect fracking and he sided with Trump to end NAFTA and put tariffs on China to stop them from cheating," the Casey campaign ad states.

"Tammy Baldwin got President Trump to sign her Made in America bill," says the narrator in Baldwin's ad.

Rep. Elissa Slotkin's (D-Mich.) campaign for Senate also spent more than a $1 million starting mid-August on an ad saying she "wrote a law signed by President Trump forcing drug companies to show their actual prices," according to AdImpact.
Quote:Sens. Jon Tester (D-Mont.) and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) are viewed as the most vulnerable senators this year, running in states that will almost certainly vote for Trump.

Both have made concerted efforts to distance themselves from the Biden administration on key issues and present themselves as moderate voices in their party.

Tester ads have featured Montanans who say they are "lifelong Republicans" or plan to vote for Trump, but back Tester for Senate.

An ad from earlier this year boasts that Brown "wrote a bill that Donald Trump signed to crack down on drugs at the border."
Casey only one of new ones that seems to be on YouTube:
