That's the part where Israel is planning to start a regional war that will be devastating to everyone in the Middle East, with a fair chance of turning into a world war; and that the US could stop it immediately as well as the genocide but won't. No way would Israel do this if they didn't receive the constant, massive supply of weapons and parts they require from the US. And of course Israel feels confident doing this with 2 US carrier groups in the region to back them up and US boots on the ground to defend Israel. It is free to act with impunity and maximum aggression knowing it can pop back behind the US shield.

…as if they were engaging with, invested in, or curious about whatever slop™️ the algorithm was churning out prior to the AI boogeyman arriving.

But then I listened to a video had an evocative thumbnail and title that was about an hour long. The description was that the music is "calming & relaxing jazz music." I didn't think too much about it at the time. It sounded fine, if not super inspired. But right afterwards I got recommended another video by that channel. As well as a bunch of "vibes" and "chill" video recommendations. A lot of these have 10K+ to even 1M views. I checked out more videos from that first channel; there were several videos all about an hour long each, all with the same style of thumbnail and title. All uploaded within days of each other. The channel's description didn't have a whole lot of info about who they were or what this music is, just a link to their Bandcamp.

That's when I realized: This might be generative AI music. And therein lies the problem: might be.

So now I have to curate music on YouTube. No more blindly just clicking on a video and be happy! I have to spend my time to investigate the channel and music now? And as someone who has no technical knowledge on music, I can't even begin to think about what the tell-tale signs are in the music that it's AI, it's not like the music will have an auditory equivalence to a hand having 6 fingers in AI artwork. Or maybe there is one? But it shouldn't have mattered in the first place!

I can no longer just simply enjoy music. Or any kind of art for that matter.

Sadly, the law moves a lot slower than technology. Generative A.I. is essentially industrial-scale plagiarism and therefore a massive nightmare as it pertains to copyright law, yet Congress is probably going to take years to even begin addressing the issue, much less doing anything about it. That is even if they do anything about it at all. In an ideal world, this would have been dealt with already, with anything being generated by an A.I. not being subject to copyright protections (because it was made by a computer program, one that was trained on countless copyrighted works to regurgitate on demand some amalgamation of what was fed into it), and lawsuits galore against the people developing and using this tech.

I started playing the new Quiet Place game this week and the environments are loaded with what I think are AI art--and you've hit the nail on the head when you describe how exhausting it is to even have to consider that, analyze it, and decide whether to support it. And of course it's not like there's any easy way to quickly confirm.

3. Please indicate who you think should have the right to sue toolmakers for making tools and who should have the right to sue tool users for using tools.
4. Please explain how your demand would not deny copyright to anything that uses a portion of another copyrighted work aka parody, sampling, criticism, fair use, etc. or can be claimed to be "informed" by another copyrighted work.
5. Do you believe Microsoft should be liable for your past and ongoing copyright violations you engaged in on Windows? Should the manufacturers of your PC components? The electric company for supplying power to your copyright violations? Extend as necessary.
