This thread is a sham. We are screaming into the void. They're biding time to let this blow over and not much more.

Lack of responses have always been a problem with this thread, but this time it feels worse than ever to just have no one adress an incident. It has changed my perception of both the moderation team and this supposed community discussion thread. I've always been someone to offer a lot of grace to the team in the past since I know how hard it is to moderate big forums. But this time more than ever a quick response was needed and the fact that it's been a full week of radio silence... it's just bad.

It’s really sad there has been no response to this yet , I just hope they are doing something about this behind the scenes (I highly doubt this though). If nothing is done about this, I cannot take any future warning/bans seriously. Something needs to be done about this.

It has always felt, as with the previous thread, a space to tuck away discussion of moderation and the site and keep it quarantined away from the community at large. This is despite the genuinely helpful mods and admins who reach out and offer insight as well as consider the opinions of members.

I'm mostly in here to keep up to date with goings on as otherwise I would miss key forum issues like this most pressing one.

I expect very little of the GM in this and other instances and the issue will unfortunately die down and we continue as normal, and probably lose members and positive engagement due to this.

So will this ever be addressed? I’ll ask every day until people get sick of it and I get thread banned. This shouldn’t be forgotten, the longer this goes without a decent response from the staff the more pathetic it looks.

It's concerning that not even a single staff member has even commented on this, other than nepenthe a few days ago. I am sure more than b-dubs and nepenthe are aware of this issue and have their own thoughts on it. If they just hope this passes, then that's a major disappointment, but I shouldn't be surprised. This isn't the first time community members have voiced frustrations and left due to the mishandling of the issue by staff.

I don’t understand why it’s so hard to say ‘okay I fucked up’. This wasn’t a one off incident either, there is a pattern of this kind of attack on other users that would almost assuredly face staff action if it wasn’t the GM making the post, which makes the lack of any kind of attempt to address it even more concerning.

I'm not one to be calling for heads to roll or anything like that. That being said it's pretty jarring for there to be zero accountability from the staff (well, mainly B-Dubs) in this situation. I get things get heated and you say something you quickly regret, but at least own up to it! We're all human and we make stupid mistakes especially on the internet. It's okay to acknowledge you did something wrong. I don't know why it's so difficult to do that on a fucking internet forum. Like come on now. In this case, an apology is not enough , manager should willingly or be forced to step down. A person in his position should know better than go off the handle like he did and. A simple “my bad I apologize” is not good enough.

Have avoided posting here but a recent poster helped me realize that without continuos pressure admin will just sweep this under the rug as clearly evidenced by the lack of response here after all this time. So here's my contribution.

I couldn't for the life of me muster a single kind word to say about B-Dub as admin so I'll stop there, but I do hope he shows some decency for once and either own up to his mistake publicly, apologizes and explain how he plans to address his ongoing behavior, or just step down and give a better person a chance to course correct this forum into the supposedly progressive space it claims to be.

Hey everyone! I've been creepily lurking for a few weeks just to get a feel for the environment around here.

After being part of a couple of other communities that turned into shitshows of far-right guys screaming about everything being woke and raging at anyone who isn't one of them, I like to kinda scout the situation before joining up. So I'm Max and I have been a gamer for over 6 years now. I also play guitar, read a crazy amount of books, have a weird obsession with Funko Pops, and I'm working on becoming a gaming YouTuber/Streamer along with a couple of friends I met online.

Oh, and I play a lot of different types of games: The Last of Us, Call of Duty, Hearthstone, PUBG, the Tell Tale types of games, Arena of Valor, The Flame in the Flood, Starfield, Skyrim, etc.

I see multiple problems with this discussion but before I get into that I'd like to offer a suggestion. Sometimes we can really dig our heels in when we are talking about something that we have a strong opinion on and this can lead to being hostile and can distort how we see things. My parents are both teachers (my dad is a university professor and my mom is a high school math teacher) and they have taught me three important ideas:

1. To do the research so that my opinion can be informed.

2. To think critically. One part of that is recognizing that I could be wrong, at least to some degree.

3. To understand that some things may not be as simple as I may think. We live in a complex world, filled with complex people who have complex ideas.

So with that said, I see a lot of people on both sides who have really dug their heels in on this issue and don't seem to recognize any grey areas. Everything is just not that black and white.

This post is already getting long so I will start with one point and address some other things later. Anyway, from my point of view, the first problem is that both sides are responsible for the current mess. The Israeli government is currently ran by an extremist leader and his extremist party. And on the other side you have Hamas, which is also an extremist group. What I find sad about this situation is that both the Israeli and Palestinian civilians are the ones suffering because of the extremism of their leaders. So when you guys talk about Israel or Palestine please remember that the civilians as a whole are not responsible for the actions of their leaders. If Trump becomes president again and decides to help Russia take over Ukraine, you probably wouldn't like it of people from other countries blamed all Americans for it.
