There's a genocide (or WHATEVER you want to call it if you're pissy about that specific word) happening, right in front of everyone's eyes, with enough material in terms of photos and videos and first hand-reports that nobody could call it fake news.

And what do politicians do? Defend the crimes of Israel.

And what do journalists do? Defend and obfuscate the crimes of Israel.

And what are creatives and the entertainment world doing? You know, South Park, Family Guy, countless other shows that would often be the sole voice to point out some bizarre injustice, even if it was considered unpopular? Nothing. Silence. Where's Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks or any other BIG celebrity now? The only one I've heard some good words recently was Andrew Garfield, you know, the guy who's career was already over. Where are all those big names that would usually take the side of victims? Of afflicted children?

And what do the people in the West do? Go on with their lives, business as usual, nothing happening here.

What in the F is happening? Like, are we REALLY allowing "all of this" to happen in the way it happens? Like, even if it's happening and even if we cannot do anything against it, is our (collective) reaction really the correct, measured reaction that you'd expect for what some are calling the next Holocaust?

Sorry for my aimless rambling, and none of the above is targeting anyone specific. But I honestly don't understand the way our western society is dealing with the crimes of Israel. To the point where "crimes of Israel" would probably make me an antisemite to many, however little sense it makes. And then the same politicians want us to support Ukraine. Condemn China due to the Uighure-situation. Etc.. Nothing makes any sense anymore. And part of me is "dude, calm down". But the bigger part of me is like "no fuck calming down, the people in Gaza and Lebanon have no time to calm down either in infinitely worse circumstances!". This isn't a time for calming down. And yet outside of some internet bubbles, nobody seems to give a shit. Those who could move the needle don't give a shit.

At least in 1933, people had a reason to stay out of it, because siding with the oppressed would get you killed. Now in 2024, what's society's excuse? Anyone getting killed for speaking out in favor of Gaza?

They made a tier list, rating various streamers from "Arab" (good) to "Loves Sabra" (bad). Considering that Sabra is also a common term for Jews born in Israel... Don't think this really needs defending. Though I question how they determine ban lengths when Asmongold gets just two weeks.
