no worries bro. It's kind of shocking how accurate I was lol. Almost a play by play of how it is playing out.

An issue I think that is not being talked about enough though is that voters didn't like it that Biden got thrown into the dumpster.
Yes his approval rating was low but he was still the President that a lot of union guys voted for and it made the cries about threats to democracy sound hollow.

In 2020 a lot of voters specifically wanted scranton Joe as their candidate because they didn't want the other more 'radical' primary candidates like Kamala.
They spit them all in the face by air dropping her into the campaign and having Biden resign by Tweet.

Maybe I should go into the polling business, Selzer was off by 17 points Trumps

I know this was the sticking point of a few Democrat friends near me. They were uncomfortable that Kamala was given the nod so quickly and felt their primary vote was a waste. They wanted Biden to run and thought no one else could beat Trump.

Democrats just gotta drop “end of the world”, “end of america”, “end of democracy”, “January 6” from their vocabulary.

It’s an obvious lie and no one gives a shit. Also, not exactly a compelling argument: it essentially says I am your only choice.

I think Kamala was a strong candidate and would’ve made a good president, but she fell into this same stupid trap.

my incredibly dumb ridiculous political takes

I really dislike trump, he only does anything for his own glorification and greed, and makes rash, sweeping decisions that can impact a lot based on petty short-term personal grievances

however I have known too many people like kamala, and her behavior as a candidate was truly terrifying, not in terms of policies I wouldn't want to see carried out or anything like that, but just as a person with nothing behind the eyes, nothing genuine about her ever, roundabout avoidance for every question and empty cackling

she wasn't a real person, she was a shell who would be completely controlled by those around her, signing anything she was told to sign and saying whatever she was told to say

I would've rather had hillary as president than trump, from what little I saw of walz I would've rather had him as president, and I would've also rather had vance as president after his debate and podcast appearance

but in this specific match up I think I'm a little relieved to get the devil we know

I feel like the surrounding attitude is different from in 2016, that was a reaction to obama and kind of an embarrassing lashing out, this time around this feels more like "please help us, do something different, anything," which I don't think is a bad instinct from the general public, people are sick of a lot of shit that's been going on and there needs to be a realignment, the democratic party needed a moment they could go "ok, message received" and try to promote ideals more in line with what the average person cares about

no idea whether they will actually do that, or just double down yet again and call everyone racists and fascists...

I think the Dems didn't realize that the deadly pandemic was a one time thing.
Still it's pretty wild that such a big chunk of the Democrat vote didn't show up even if it just increased the numbers in solid blue states.

Another fun graph I looted from ResetEra

I still don't understand how the Harris campaign thought that Republicans on the eve of a great victory would suddenly turn on Trump because Liz Cheney, abortions and Puerto Rico.  lol

https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2024/11/06/starr-county-flips-red-for-the-first-time-in-over-100-years/
Quote:"En route to his win as president of the United States, Donald Trump managed to flip a former Democratic stronghold in Texas, according to the Associated Press.

With 99% of the votes counted, Trump won Starr County in South Central Texas with about 57.7% of the vote, according to AP estimates, ending the county’s 132-year streak in past presidential elections of voting Democratic.

Starr County is part of the Texas border and the larger Rio Grande Valley region. It is known as a stronghold for the Democrats, though this has become a narrowing margin in recent elections.

In 2016, Starr County voted for Hillary Clinton with a percentage of 79.1 to Donald Trump’s 19%, according to Politico."

Should I post this here on in the conspiracy theory thread?

Since I call everything right, I'll try to explain reality. I woke up today, had the day off and saw the results, and was like, I remember teabagging that shithouse forum last time. Googled you all up and I guess the old place died without me, so here you are. Make an account and teabag again. (A gentlemanly teabag, but PD lost his best with me so his punishment is he deletes his account.)

Anyways, Gen X and Gen Z went Trump.. You will find a lot of first time voters and low propensity voters went Trump. The thing is that all the people who were of the mindset, "Leave me alone, but just don't fuck it all up." saw that you had indeed fucked it all up. We were heading towards a nuclear world war 3 and the argument for it was abortion. So, let's do math, Abortion + Nuclear WW3 deaths = extinction cycle. So people, almost instinctively, voted against that.
