Kamala shouldn’t concede. She can still win this.

while watching this concession speech remember two weeks ago she literally just called him hitler

so if she doesn't say something along the lines of "the american people have spoken, and they desired a tyrant, a demagogue, an actual hitler..."

Nice speech. I guess after being told this was a fight for our democracy, we are going to survive and that it's okay?

Dems please use this time to fix your platform. Worry less about bullshit and more what the working class actually want.

seemed pretty divisive to me

"double down, keep stomping your feet and complaining, it's those guys who are wrong, not you, never give an inch"

what would've been a good closing statement? maybe this

maybe admit that your "enemies" are human and actually listen to their concerns

None at all.  lol Kamala as always does not believe in anything and it's all lip service.

Unburdened by the campaign Kamala finally decides to sound authentic in her concession speech.

Anyway Trump was right, success heals the divide. He clobbered them and finally they drop the court cases and stop calling him a Nazi.

It's funny thinking back to the post-Romney loss in 2012 and how completely fucked the party was. Republicans did a post election autopsy some of which was insightful.
Quote:“The perception, revealed in polling, that the GOP does not care about people is doing great harm to the Party and its candidates on the federal level, especially in presidential years. It is a major deficiency that must be addressed,” the report reads.
In a lot of ways, Trump rectified this and it won him the Rust belt twice. If not for covid, I think he would have won in 2020 too. I mean, he has zero meaningful plans or policies. He told people what they wanted to hear, told them everything would get better but did so in a colorful (I mean, he sounds like a moron) and entertaining way and the crowds ATE IT UP.

He tried to coup the government? Don't care, he told me groceries would be cheaper. He's a rapist? Don't care, he going to deport illegal immigrants and build the wall. Wants to be "dictator for a day"? Don't care, he's going to hold China's feet to the fire.

Trump forcefully took over the GOP robot, used it for his own purposes and they both benefited massively. The republicans got to avoid their moment of truth because Trump saw weakness, invaded and pillaged the whole damn thing. Now they just need to take orders and shut up. Self reflection is for losers when Daddy Trump tells us what to do!

Point being, the Republicans were a vulnerable mess, but democrats aren't much better off. What has the party been post-McGovern? What do they stand for? Clinton managed to temporarily save the party after Reagan going Third Way. Let's be honest, Clinton was a likable guy, too. Obama, also very charismatic, temporarily saved the party after Bush. They can't replicate him again and it's not a viable strategy to just wait for the next Obama. They should have THEIR moment of reflection in 2020 but kicked the can down the road when Biden won the primary. They wanted to run it back one more time. Unfortunately, the electorate doesn't like how you run things. You've been admonished TWICE. I can't believe this happened again after HillDawg ate shit so spectacularly.

I don't know where the party goes now. Their messaging needs to totally change. People vote on vibes and culture war bullshit and who was on Joe Rogan recently. Democrats need fresh leaders with a better understanding of working class and young people. Trump is a con-man and will just lie to get what he wants. He's writing the rule book for whoever takes over the GOP when he's gone. How do you counter this?

I actually think that's more of a problem for republicans than democrats

there's only one trump, anyone else reciting his lines would come across as a pretender, at some point they have to be statesmen again, have to actually improve the country in measurable ways

Found this long-ass Reddit post from a purported Gay Latino Rando on Reddit interesting. The parts about latino-black tensions in the Dem establishment... I can only see that getting worse

But that's none of my business...

https://www.reddit.com/r/moderatepolitics/s/qtE7ucJsgL

Spoiled quotes for length.

Part 7: Identity Politics:
Spoiler:  (click to show)
Quote:(7) **Identity Politics** \- It's not working. In my Latino-majority community, the Democratic Party is seen as the "Party of Black Interests" who likes to slap a "BIPOC" sticker on what are ultimately policies crafted by Black organizations with no ties to Latinos

Quote:Biden scraped through with 40,000 votes in 3 states and within a few months I saw progressives on Twitter labeling Asians and Latinos who didn't conform 100% with party orthodoxy as "White-adjacent." If you're going to treat Asians and Latinos as White-adjacent, don't be surprised when they take the hint and vote White-adjacent for the GOP.

Part 8: Dem Racial Tensions
Spoiler:  (click to show)
Quote:Why does the party never elevate Latinos? California is over 40% Latino and just 5% Black yet the mayor of Los Angeles is Black, the mayor of San Francisco is Black, the VP is Black, the junior Senator is Black, the Secretary of State is Black, the State Controller is Black, the State Superintendent of Public Instruction is Black, etc etc etc.

My county is 26% Latino and 20% Black (Prince William County, Virginia, which predictably had a massive R-trend yesterday). Yet every single Democrat (all 5 of 9) in my county's Board of Supervisors is Black

Why? Because the Party made the conscious decision that 'racial justice' meant elevating the Black community within the party, so they got first dibs. The end result is a racially diverse county where Democrats are only seen as accommodating one.

Why are Asians shifting right? Because when a Black homeless man pushes an Asian grandma onto train tracks, and the Party doesn't attend a candlelit vigil for the grandma for fear of offending Black voters, that sends a signal to Asians of second-class status.

I could have posted the whole damn thing. Anybody think the dude is wrong?

was just watching the interview

"frankly I wouldn't be surprised if me and Trump won the normal gay guy vote"

and it turns out...a fifth of self-identified LGBT people voted for trump

i didn't want trump to win, but now he has, i can just be glad the dems didn't win either. i want them to know people are tired of their shit, i want the corpse of their campaign gibbetted for the rest of the world to see.

i'm generally on the left of most issues (whatever that means anymore), but i enjoy risk, absurdity and freedom of expression. the dems represented a kind of suffocating cultural authoritarianism that if it was a stock would be worth .1% of its 2020 peak. you can't just lay out a social mandate then demand fealty on pain of pariahdom anymore. they need to purge all those terminally damaged staffers who see the world through reddit upvotes. mass activiating your r/politics bot farm to make sure you drown all conversation that isn't about the "gay swifties for kamala " endorsement isn't going to win you shit.

this entire lliberal operating system needs to be binned off entirely. no automatic updates or service packs, just straight into the trash.

i saw a couple of kids in baggy korn hoodies call each other retarded earlier. maybe the world is healing.
