There's no evidence that any cognitive issues she has contributed to her fall, something that is a fairly common occurrence especially for disabled people. There isn't even any evidence that it was a serious fall. The people that are using this to hit at Feinstein aren't doing it out of concern, they're doing it because it's ammunition against someone they already don't like. And this site's disabled members shouldn't have to watch our daily struggles be weaponized in that way. But it's more important for people to get their shots in, to joke and insult using our struggles, than to care about what effect it would have on this site's disabled population. We just don't enter the equation for those people.

It's not about Feinstein, it's about telling disabled people that the daily struggles and setbacks they endure are evidence enough of their inability to work. It's dehumanizing. But I don't expect people to realize it. It's so normalized for them that they not only don't see the hurt they cause, but they will fight against any kind of introspection on the subject.

It seems disingenuous for people to suggest ageism or ableism are behind the criticism of this official staying in her role. I’m not saying all comments are fairly framed or empathetic, but the context is apparent for many of the comments.

Strange to see some treating this topic like people are unfairly assessing someone’s performance due solely to the number of years she’s lived or due to disability that can be accommodated while she otherwise fulfills her duty. Neither of those perspectives apply to this person.
