What the hell did I do...again? Last time I was just searching for chainsaws and ended up with ass shots for the next 6 weeks. I was just about to search for some VOIP stuff for work (seirously I was) but then all the Thumbnails are just...well you know what it is. But how does it know? I'm trying to work over here YouTube, just play morning sport show highlights when I'm at work please.


It seems searching for random shit doesn't fix the issue as well as it used to.

Something is fucky with these apps, man. I have been served ads exclusively in Spanish--a language I don't speak--for months at a time (and more than once!), so I'm always skeptical of the hand-wavey "well, the algorithms just know what you want". 

Even moreso, I think The Algorithms should be cognizant of basic shit like: I would like to open instagram and not immediately see a closeup of extreme cameltoe while I am engaging in Christian Fellowship in the House of the Lord. 

Hosting this content is one thing, but there's a reason you don't see extreme implied and/or near nudity when you're browsing the newspaper, even in ads. This is like...an ancient solved problem. I don't know why so many people collectively accept this sort of excuse-making or user-blaming. 

"Youtube is only supported by an elite collection of some of the most well paid and senior engineers on Earth...how could you possibly expect them to make sure you don't see NC-17 content while looking for car repair tutorials? But joking aside if you don't vote the winners see it as 'you didn't vote, so you agree with everything that we do otherwise you would've voted for something else'. You can already see this discussion in the press. Because if you add the people who didn't vote to the opposition, Trump and the Republicans don't have much of a mandate but his public vote win (which is only based on the folks who did vote) is explained as a sweeping mandate to turn the White House into McDonalds.

Now of course there is a responsibility of the political parties to put somewhat sane candidates on the ballots but voters also have a responsibility to show up and vote for Trump.

- Category nominations decide which games are the best
- Games with category nominations are up for Game of the Year

How the VGA works
- Category nominations include games at random not nominated for GOTY, entirely new categories are made up on the spot for specific sponsor deals
- GOTY list includes games not nominated in any other category
- The same "GOTY" candidates are put up again for "BEST GAME DIRECTION" which is apparently different from "BEST GAME"

So you'll end up with
Stellar Blade - Best Action Game (not nominated for game of the year)
WuKong - Game of the Year (doesn't win any other category)
Astro Bot - Best Game Direction (because no one understands what this even means)
