Something I’ve always wondered is WHEN trans athletes decide that they are sufficiently female (there is no threshold ever discussed for this, because you get into messed up areas like minimum oestrogen thresholds, maximum testosterone levels or other measurable characteristics, which is clearly absurd).

If this is happening after puberty, then there’s gotta be a whole lot of middling male athletes that transition and are suddenly like “wow, maybe I really am great at this?!”.

There’s a reason no one wil ever complain about an FtM trans athlete competing in male competition. But the instinctive reflex that every discussion around these issues must be discriminatory and therefore shouted down and silenced means that these points are never addressed .

you feel like a girl, which to 99% of all trans girls means dresses, painted nails, long colorful socks, cute things, daydreaming about sleepovers, girl talk, growing breasts, and dilating for the rest of your life

athleticism is not a girly trait and SHOULD make you feel more masculine, muscle growth, competition, striving for success

or if you're gonna say it IS a girly trait because girls do it therefore it's girly, then none of the rest of the things you claim you have to do because you're a girl apply, because not all girls like pink or wear cute clothes or paint their nails

leaving your nails unpainted is a girly thing to do because lots of girls do exactly that

so yeah, uh...maybe it really is about the loophole that allows you to win at every competition? even winning as a big hulking brute glowering over the cis girls should be dysphoric

Absolutely agree that it’s highly unlikely that people transition, at any level, so they can dominate basketball, more that they are unable to acknowledge that there IS a competitive advantage because that would draw a measurable distinction between women and trans women.

The Virtual Console was a double edged sword.

The best selling games were mostly titles like Zelda, Pokemon and Super Mario a lot of the niche stuff didn't sell at all and was barely visible. Some titles sold 2 digits at best.
Plus you still had licensing, certification, age ratings, EU regulations (manuals in every language) etc. . Third parties had signed up early on and had to meet their obligitations to Nintendo but in most cases it wasn't a profitable venture. On Wii U and 3DS it was obvious costs were being cut on all sides as games would be buggy, slow or running at 50% brightness.

The current setup means that third parties get paid no matter how little their game is played and with the smaller number of titles it means more visibility.
On Virtual Console games would just appear while with the Switch Online service Nintendo spends a little marketing effort with an announcement and a trailer or a bigger marketing effort for games like GoldenEye. Plus they usually tweak the controls or apply patches to improve the games in small ways.

The best response to the Burka Brigade when they start dogpiling you is to just ignore them and continue posting as if you never saw their posts.
