Idk maybe it’s thing there now? But I live a short drive away in Philadelphia City so I feel like I would have heard it at some point.

It's an autistic local thing because it's surrounded by Baltimore County but Maryland is basically Virginia so it allows cities that exist inside no county. Baltimore (City) is independent from Baltimore (County) unlike most states.

The only places in the United States that do this other than some weird exceptions are DC/Virginia/Baltimore and they're really anal about which local jurisdiction matters because everybody else assumes it's like normal. DC people are the same way about DC proper versus the area since there's no state-level government but the localities across the borders do have state-level governments. It's stupid but because everyone who lives there are government bureaucrats they take it really seriously.

I'm not at all surprised this poster who is totally not KSweeley thinks it's not only important but actively talks about it in this way. I'm sure he's convinced that if he just says Baltimore other people will think he's talking about the County.

With Gamepass people aren't buying Xbox games. That's by design. Microsoft has been at war with game ownership since the Mattrick era. The fact that no one is buying Xbox games isn't organic. It is a long-held project within MS since before the Xbox One reveal and this is the desired outcome. MS doesnt like you owning games and have taken choice away from the consumer. The position that its going to happen any way is pure cinicysim and wholly anti-consumer. I don't understand why consumers should want what large multinational corporations want for them instead of wanting more options for themselves and to maintain the consumer rights they had before.

But Trump got elected twice, so its pretty obvious to me that people will make choices that go against their own interests for convenience. This capitulation to what Microsoft wants does not surprise me at all.

Thanks to Era I'm just now finding out about the botched PSSR, which makes the image quality on PS5 Pro worse than base PS5 for basically every game and because the CPU hasn't been upgraded most CPU limited games run about the same in general anyway.

Also if they think this is an 'easy' fix, they are deluding themselves. The AI upscaling stuff is quite difficult to change software wise. It's why DLSS upgrades required entirely new hardware. This is pretty much in line with what we have seen so far from AMDs upscaling efforts anyway. If they don't use resolution upscale trickery the games will likely have significant performance issues and for most of these games the developers/publishers have no interest in going back to work on a patch for a console that 2%(?) of active players use.

There are gaming PCs out there that I think offer a better value proposition this Black Friday/holiday than the PS5 Pro, let alone that + PS5 PS VR 2 capability. There seem to be some good deals out there for a $500-1000 gaming PC, which gives you the Steam library + all that cloud capability for streaming/Moonlight/Steam Link, etc, native DLSS/FSR, etc. I just don't understand what Sony is doing. PSSR doesn't work half the time and it's the main value proposition for the $700-800 (if you need disc drive) console that has all that power confined to the isolated PS5 ecosystem and library. And if you want to play PS VR2 on your PS5 Pro? That's on sale but it's another few hundred dollars and it's just too much of a barrier to such a sparse ecosystem (I mean the PS5 library being confined to this hardware) and features that aren't working as expected at launch. PSSR needed to be developed to a point that it "just works" like the features of Apple, Meta, etc. but an algorithm that is hit-or-miss and certain games would look better with your worse console? Just a mess, to go into a holiday season like this as a console manufacturer.

This thread can be summed up by this worthless post. This is a bad faith take and typical of the type of post an over-exaggerated thread title attracts. "PSSR doesn't work half the time" indeed. Shit thread, because there is a legitimate issue that is just lost in this mess.

I'm sorry but as a founding member of Era and a migrant from the old place, who puts thoughtful crafting into my posts whenever needed/possible although I am not perfect and don't know every gaming thing ever, I don't enjoy the notion that I'm acting in bad faith with a "worthless" post that had legitimate points and comparisons (which nobody seemed to address individually, so I don't really know what to say to such an insult), and as an end-user that has owned almost every system including many retro handhelds since gaming in 1994, everything *EXCEPT* a PS5 Pro including a gaming PC, precisely because it's the first time a console has really felt superfluous and not a good value proposition whatsoever to me even as a hardcore gamer.

I have not delved super deeply into every PSSR thread, but the headlines and casually perusing some of the articles and snippets, I've gotten the impression that PSSR is really hit-or-miss, which is just as I said, in terms of providing a superior image quality experience to the base PS5. Is that incorrect? Because plenty of threads have talked about it. It just doesn't seem competitive of a feature set in this holiday marketspace to me. 8K + PSSR + better specs that have not materialized into better games yet...I don't think the Pro will sell well in an economy where everybody voted Trump because of "economic anxiety" (amongst bigotry and other things but lets not go there) people are experiencing where there are MULTIPLE $100-1000 entertainment toy options this holiday and this is by far the biggest price tag to not-working-ideally features ratio I have seen in a long while, maybe since the Meta Quest Pro's $1,500 2022 launch (like...what the fuck)

If you're such high and mighty posters with impeccable post quality, why don't you explain to a dumb dumb like me how well PSSR works from your knowledge and experience, and why it and the Pro are worth a $700-800 upgrade (maybe half that price if you trade in a previous PS4)?

first and foremost let’s get the obvious statements out of the way, all of plurality is valid, and it’s very very very unlikely to be self deluded because it’s such a varied experience and extremely personalized experience, plus no one can look into your head. With that said, here we go.

The whole delusion/fake/doubt issues really begins with system medicalist and society as a whole, greater society doesn’t even believe plurality exist or doesn’t even know about it and those who might may hold a demonized view of it due to media(Mandela Catalogue/Split etc). And sysmedicalism, the strict beliefs that systemhood is only caused by trauma and must be DID/OSDD, this is wrong, People can be plural from birth, People can willfully become plural through various means, non disordered systems exist, including non disordered trauma systems, and be mixed origins+Other things we probably forgot. And Disordered can become non disordered and vice versa. And most if not all tulpamancy techniques also work in most if not all systems, and that shows that there’s some fundamentals to systems. And many more things that disprove these false sysmed/societal views.

It’s because of these that these ideals that “I’m delusional/Faking/Crazy” or Pluralphobia can be internalized and even exist, society and the toxic plural spaces push these ideals around, and force them onto us, that’s where these feelings likely come from. And when they’re pushed onto eachother they tend to have that effect of creating these feelings of doubt/being deluded. External pressure is a very powerful thing

How the people came into the system varies, Some hold trauma, some have roles, some don’t etc etc, but they’re still fundamentally people.exes in the brain.

Following that logic, Your system and headmates, Are very real, regardless of origin, they’re all built on that concrete/Person.exe. and if that isn’t convincing and the idea of delusion still lies, systems from birth exist, how could that be fake/illusion if that’s all a group has known their life? There can’t be a “real one” in those systems, so that should apply to other systems, following the presented logic ofc. Also following that logic, an experience or lack of an experience in a system doesn’t make you invalid, it just means your system differs from most. When it comes to systemhood, a wise sysmate once said “it doesn’t matter what is normal anymore”, if you’re experiencing it it’s happening and thus is valid, even if it’s not normal, and look at it like this, plurality isn’t even seen as normal by most, so when asking stuff about plurality, it’s just best to throw normal out the window.

Also the brain is shown to be capable of making extra People.Exes in many ways and cases, why would your case be any different? And food for thought: IFS Therapy suggest that brains are naturally multiple and that all people have an indefinite amount of parts,and the therapy has been proven to work, so there’s that.
