Won't someone think of the monks lovingly crafting illuminated manuscripts put out of business by the printing press. Now any peasant can buy a basic book.

I have to wonder... if Nep needed a legally binding contract for something, given the choice between paying a lawyer a hefty sum of money, or having an "AI" generate one that is effectively exactly the same, for free, would she opt to pay the lawyer?
She seems most disgruntled at the fact that her skills are no longer valuable -- no one is taking away her ability to draw. What is happening, is that a free tool is allowing many people to create what they need without having to pay someone to do it. It sucks for the artist but it's great for the general public, who don't want to pay someone every time they need an art asset for something.
Think of how many menial jobs have been accomplished without having to pay someone to do said job, because you can look it up on Google or YouTube, and just do it yourself. You don't need to be a journeyman plumber to replace a sink faucet, and I'm sure lots of people have avoided paying good money to replace a sink faucet by simply using a free tool that shows them how to do so. But, lots of people can't be bothered, and will still opt to pay the plumber, too.
And there's a certain irony on REE, where they blubber on about how "artists" aren't getting paid because of AI art generators, while simultaneously discussing how to circumvent YouTube ads. You can't have it both ways. Either you support people who create content, or you don't. Half of REE is copied and pasted large chunks of articles into the site, basically rendering the link to the article pointless, and profiting off super intrusive ads that litter REE, completely cutting out the journalist and company that produced the content. It's a fucking joke how these points are totally lost on dipshits like Nep and crew.
Perfect example: This article is copied and pasted onto REE -- 9 full paragraphs. Click the link, and can't read the article on New York Times because it's behind a paywall. REE (MOBA) will directly profit off of this content theft, without having done a lick of work.

PlanetSmasher, post: 116974593, member: 6260 wrote:I played 5e a lot and honestly the big thing is just that I don't find Larian's combat encounter design of choice - "here's six hundred enemies who will ventilate you with ranged attacks before you can even get close, better figure out a way to split aggro and pray they miss more often than they hit" - super fun when it's 7-10 enemies against four party members and each enemy takes several rounds of combat to kill. So if I can even the playing field with a party that kind of equals the amount of numbers the game throws at you, it might make the game more enjoyable for me overall.
Or maybe it'll make it too chaotic to keep track of spell slots/long rest ability uses, who knows.
It's just personally not how I like to play D&D as a player OR as a DM - as an encounter designer myself, my combat sequences are always designed to be beaten, rather than designed to kill the party unless they figure out a really epic strategy to take them down. And that's the central disconnect I have with Larian as a developer - I always feel like the game is trying really hard to just instantly wipe my whole party in every encounter unless I figure out some sneaky trick. This retard manages to find a way to lie about every single game he plays. BG3 has a balanced mix of battles that range in enemy quantity. And if you can’t handle that on easy mode (which I believe he has said he plays most games on), then you should probably put it down.
Also, “as an encounter designer myself, my combat sequences are always designed to be beaten, rather than designed to kill the party unless they figure out a really epic strategy to take them down.”

recall that encountersmasher swore that bg3 was gonna suck because the combat larian's games boil down to "throw barrels" or reload for "a good random seed" every time, while complaining about how hard everything was
then it came out that they had somehow managed to miss all of the recruitable party members, so they were playing with 2 characters instead of 4
then they never returned to the thread
ppl aren't engaging with them as much this time, thank god, but think about it for 5 minutes. do they think that thousands of players and every reviewer that gave bg3 a perfect score just dealt with the "awful" encounter design? that they all hit their heads against the wall over and over, or just didn't notice?
but no, it can't be that ps just fundamentally doesn't "get" how to play these games, which is fine. if you threw me into football manager, i'd flail around and be utterly confused. it has to be a launching pad for them to rant about how awful it all is, how it's an indictment of modern game design, and so on. someone will counter it with actual examples, and ps will say something like "well i didn't notice because the dialogue was so terrible," and the cycle continues

Oh aye, and another time me and my mates were sitting in The Venue which was a local dive for punks and metal heads. Watty came in and told us to move from the table we were sitting at cos apparently it belonged to him. We told him to fuck off. So he grassed us to security for being underage and we got kicked out. Cunt. He was hard as fuck when I was a little kid on my own, but shit himself when he was outnumbered by a bunch of teenagers.
Oh and then there was that time his shite band ran and begged the pigs to save them from the Livi punks who turned up to the punk’s picnic and were going to kick the fuck out of them. Why am I mentioning this? I don’t know. The Exploited were literally the Nep Nep’s of punk I guess.
