Among the plays that would be considered cardinal sins in today's NBA:

1. Rick Mahorn heaving a desperation three early in the shot clock with his team already up by 16 points.

2. Isiah Thomas stealing the ball in the backcourt and converting a quick layup to balloon the Pistons' lead to 18 with less than 20 seconds remaining.

3. The Pistons double teaming in the backcourt to induce one more turnover.

4. Isiah Thomas intentionally fouling to stop the clock.

5. The Pistons calling time-out to set up one final shot at 130.

Why are the Knicks as popular as they are despite not having a legacy of winning?
It's always amazed me as a sports fan how there is such a lore and prestige that comes with the Knicks, similar to that of Lakers and Celtics and they're a global brand like the Lakers, Cowboys, and Yankees are, despite the fact that the Knicks haven't won a lot in their history like those other teams have.

Why doesn't Wemby simply grow a 3-foot flattop to help block shots without the risk of fouling?
When standing flat on his feet, Wemby is about 32 inches from the rim. We've all seen the advantage that he has over average-sized players, but what if he could block a shot without even raising his hands? I think in this offseason Wemby should focus on growing his hair as high as he can.

Think about it. In a defensive stance with an additional 3 feet of hair he can effectively cover the basket and both sides of his body at the same time. Foul trouble? No problem. He could simply put his hands at his side and jump straight up in the air. Need to kill time on the clock? Simply set it on the top like a bird in a nest.

I honestly can't think of a downside to this but I'm open to feedback.
