Decided to have a go at making my own chilli sauce today (WFH day).

How'd it turn out?
I usually just make sambal ulek. That's literally just chili peppers and salt. (optionally some vinegar or lime juice can be added) Then just smash that shit up in a mortar and pestle.
Turned out good.
I'm not great with hot chilli, so the opportunity to taste test was limited. I put a little too much sugar initially, but added some more vinegar and salt and that seemed to work out. ![]()
Some more stuff from my garden
![]() If I get some more soon, I'll pickle them.

Halp, I impulse bought this. I don't have the counter space for an air fryer so I never really thought about getting one but I saw this and it fits perfect. Problem is I don't really know anything about them. I've been watching YouTube videos but if anyone has any tips or tricks that would be great. I'm not much of a cook and that's kind of why I bought this because I hear you can make some quick and easy things in them.
![]() I literally just bought it so I'm going to unbox it now. So if anybody owns one of these ninja food things, let me know what it can do ![]()

I've never used one, but Facebook does keep suggesting airfryer recipe groups. That might be a good place to start.

It's a fucking pain to clean so don't even bother trying to keep the inside clean. Heats up fast, can crisp up most anything. I have smaller sheet trays thought cause the one that comes with it is just annoying to use. I got mine refurbished so I had to download the cooking guide it came with, but there are pretty good recipes in there. https://support.ninjakitchen.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/5062013367708 ![]()

Thanks for the tip. I was getting instant buyers remorse on the drive home because I'm thinking "Killa, you don't even know what a fucking air fryer IS and you just spent $140 on some weird lookin one."
Glad to hear it's not complete junk. I would normaly do a little research before I buy something over $100 but I just said "fuck it" and bought it. I've heard of Ninja products before but I wasn't sure if they were some Ginsu Knife type gimmick or what.
Trying my hands at making flat breads today.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Recipe: 2 cups all-purpose flour (250 g) 3/4 cup natural yogurt (190 g) 1 teaspoon of baking powder A pinch of salt I added some water to the dough as it was a bit dry, then had to add flour as it was too moist. Baking is hard. A light brushing of olive oil when cooking. Turned out really good so far. Great with some hommus.

I've been trying pizzas but it's a ballache. The oven is decent but it's no pizza oven. Next move is a fancy pizza steel.

For personal pizzas I’d recommend Kenji’s cast iron method since it’s super easy assuming you just want one pizza at a time.
1. Get a 10-12 inch cast iron and spread your pizza dough in it 2. Set your oven at the highest temperature with a rack in the middle 3. Add sauce, cheese, toppings to pizza dough 4. Put it in your oven till the top looks done. 5. Take the cast iron out of the oven and on top of the stove. Cook it on high till the bottom crust is to your liking 6. Enjoy the pizza! ![]()

Went on a whisky weekend trip with some friends. Drank lots and ate like Kings.
I love cooking over open flames. ![]() ![]() |
