They only released half of the episodes, because streaming services are fucking annoying about arbitrarily drip feeding content, and with each episode maxing out at 20 mins they probably couldnt justify weekly drip feed.

Concord ep drops next week, and Id say its pretty fucking likely it was intended for there to be a Game Awards season 2 announcement, with this working as cross media marketing to get people hyped for all the new characters they were about to get to play as lol

epic are gonna be doing daily freebies for the next few weeks, rumour has it day one drop is vampire survivors (which is fucking great, but also not a big freebie because its less than a coffee pricewise at the worst of times)

I missed Vampire Survivors, but there is a weird construction and combat game or something today, Terra Tech that looks fun! Thanks for the reminder!

I had just bought Control again on PSN for US$6 despite owning it on EGS from last year's giveaway. For some reason I had two mission expansions for it on PSN already, but not the game.

EGS weekly freebie is Turmoil, I liked what I played of this. It's really just what it says on the tin, you dig oil wells and sell your oil. Everything expands from there, much like how Railroad Tycoon 2 started with you building straight routes and ended with you trying to manipulate the stock of all the other companies while paying zero attention to your railroads.

Dunno how broad the appreciation for free games goes, but KOTOR I & II are both free for mobile if you install the Epic Mobile Store app.

I don't know if these are 'one and done' better never delete them style downloads, or attached to account on download, because the EGS appstore doesnt seem to have any kind of account options outside of making you have one to download I don't

Epic is pushing a bunch of stuff through their mobile app.

They've given away free, exclusive cosmetics including entire Outfits, for playing Fortnite through their mobile app - though I guess that's a Fortnite.app and not EpicStore.app or something?

I'm on iOS so Apple's spat with Epic means I don't get to benefit from it. I think I already owned KOTOR on iOS though…

If you have Amazon Prime, one of this weeks' addition for EGS is Session, which I believe is an attempt to recreate the Skate series. There's also a bunch of EGS and GOG stuff if you don't keep up on it (along with the more traditional Amazon Games stuff):
https://gaming.amazon.com/home

They add the new ones on Thursday like Epic does, but a few hours after Epic does. (Presumably because they're on the West Coast while Epic is on the East.) For EGS you just link your accounts, for GOG they give you codes.

They also have been giving codes for Bethesda games for the Microsoft and Xbox stores the last few months.

If you somehow don't have Borderlands 2, it's free this weekend: https://store.steampowered.com/app/49520/Borderlands_2/

There’s a discussion about a recent update adding spyware. So, worthwhile to redeem but not install yet?

It honestly reads like a standard EULA and I'm not convinced anybody read the previous ones related to SHIFT because I doubt they were any different about what data they could collect.

I have to assume it's related to Borderlands 4 and doesn't actually have anything to do with 2 because SHIFT is your Gearbox account and will be used for that. So it's like your Call of Duty account or your Fortnite account or your Steam account. One of the reviews points out that people are agreeing to these all the time and not calling it spyware but they read something about this and are overreacting which is usually my assumption.

Besides, Randy's basically been pushed out of the company, it's not like he's going to leave your irrelevant personal data at Medieval Times.

edit: Game actually hasn't been updated since 2022, literally no new spyware: https://steamdb.info/app/49520/patchnotes/
