I don't really intend this as a serious question but I am vaguely curious, what exactly was the proposition they were debating? Did they even have one? Even if just "Israel or Hamas: which is the good guys?"

I've found over the years that a lot of these tuber/streamer "debates" involve someone yelling "debate me bro" and then they show up on a stream or whatever and it's like somebody just rolling out a ball and they wing it about literally anything and everything that can be considered tangentially related to the topic. I honestly don't know how anyone can watch this garbage where two dudes who don't know anything try to "debate" topics they've never learned anything about but then I guess I'm not the target audience.

It's mostly "I think you're a terrorist supporter and here's why" and "I think you're a genocide defender and here's why" with some personal grievances about harassment sprinkled in.

Most of the preparation seems to have gone into finding clips of when their opponent said something bad and less about finding sources that prove their argument.

Most streamer drama (fuck, most drama period) is High School Clique bullshit, and its embarassing I even know who some of these people are, let alone some of the details of this but...

• A long time ago they used to be friends but they haven't thought of him lately at all as a left leaning jewish guy ethan is pretty troubled by the fact the largest political streamer on twitch is continuously putting out pretty fucking dog whistley content
  
• ethan did a 2 hour (I know, right?) video 'takedown' essay on what a lying piece of shit hasan is, and pretty much sourced every point he made with evidence
  
• Hasan did the usual playbook (because its not the first former supposed friend whos had drama with him being a lying piece of shit ideologue and done a similarly sourced and evidenced video) - its all out of context, it was destiny all along, its just jokes bro, but added a 'youre mentally ill and paranoid' cherry this time. He also started claiming Ethan is a Zionist and was attempting to suppress pro-palestinian creators, which I dunno if you've noticed, is kind of putting a huge fucking target on someones back in todays climate
  
• Some mentalist tried to get ethans kids taken away because of this (also general hate campaign from people who have no idea who he is other than "Zionist" due to Hasan getting retweeted etc
  
• Hasan and some Hasan-adjacents, some of whom ethan thought were his friends and colleagues, put together a rebuttal 'take down' which... is mostly gossipy reddit bullshit and the dude who made it has proper fucked what streaming career he had. This is the Idubbz stuff they were talking about, which Hasan distances himself from (despite having a writing credit in it, lol)
  
• Ethan I guess wanted to nail hasan down on some of his bullshit and get him to explain what the missing context was that he used to deflect criticism for his stated positions from outside his fanbase who handwaved it away anyway
