I'm going to ignore commenting on the "this game should / shouldn't be banned" stuff, given the mods have made it clear they don't want discussion on that. I trust their judgment on deciding if a game should be banned, and I trust their ability to reach out to the appropriate groups if they need further opinion on it.

That being said, I feel like this is very disingenuous and ignores the very extensive marketing issues that plagued Cyberpunk prior to the release of the game. [USER=31943]Kyuuji[/USER] even made a thread listing several of the transphobic marketing issues they engaged in during the lead up to the release of CP2077. In contrast, the transphobic scene in Persona 3 is a single scene most people tend to forget and we don't even know if it'll be in the remake.

Yeah I see this more and more. It seems like some people want to say “hasn’t it been long enough to be upset about this” or something.

Nothing has really changed. And I do find it tiring that people want to go down the other games are also problematic and road.

And like some have said it’s not like discussion has been effected. It has a massive place to discuss and seems to slip into other discussions all the time.

I think such comparisons can be dismissed almost out of hand at this point. “What about Twitter? What about Persona 3?” Come on.

People need to do their own work reconciling different things being treated differently. At least some. Otherwise it tends to just come across like dropping in, invoking some amorphous moral calculous that nods at many bad things existing and inadvertently suggests just not actioning any of them, and dismisses a whole ass community discourse that was had as if conversations with each other shouldn’t play a key role in deciding what we’re comfortable housing here.

Well, there is a way to avoid these problems. Make a page that explains why Cyberpunk and Harry Potter are banned, along with the other games, sources and topics that are banned but not named anywhere, that also explains why no one should publicly ask for anything else to be banned.

This page could also contain some other advice about what things are not allowed on ResetERA.com and how members can make their opinions known to the staff. A page of guidelines or rules, if you will, that acts as a sort of social contract between the ownership, staff, prominent, regular and junior members that can continually be publicly renegotiated between parties so as reduce social friction while reducing the tendency of staff to be arbitrary and capricious towards minorities they do not favor.

I know it's a completely original and untested idea but perhaps there could be something here. Maybe a "whole ass community discourse" could be had about it.

It's just crazy in retrospect that Tony couldn't get Punk and the Elite to put their differences aside and do business. They had lightning in a bottle after Brawl Out.
