Or are those small "businesses" just influencers racking off money doing dumb "get ready with me" or "grocery haul" videos? If yes, then fuck them.
there is a tiktok shop, basically amazon style where people can sell things on there and promote via their account. theres definitely some folks doing handcrafted or custom items but its also (much like amazon) folks selling a bunch of drop shipped chinese garbage. so people were definitely running a proper business through tiktok. however instagram lets you do the same thing, as well as shopify and other selling platforms.
