Long story short, I spent 6 hrs in a Best Buy line to be one of the first to snag a Switch 2 and in doing so, I hung out and met with tons of cool folk. But there was this one dude that was awesome to chat with and we exchanged friend codes and we're on each other's switch 2s now but I wish I got his number so I could text him and just generally do other cool friend stuff and not just Nintendo Switch 2.

Is there anything I can do other than randomly pop into GameChat while he's gaming one day and just asking for his number because that feels weird to me!

Well I kept this preorder a secret to surprise my wife and I was so excited and could not keep it anymore so I told her. Let me just say it did not work as planned and I feel like a fucking idiot right now. She told me she would be more happy if I would vacuum the apartment instead of going to Media Markt to pick it up during my lunch break. ooof

Honestly I don't get it. A new console releases every seven or eight years so she could have at least pretended to be happy for you. At least until tomorrow.

So just to summarize things for me:

- Nintendo showed up, it even got delivered before lunch on launch day
- MM in store pick up still haven't given me the Abholschein - they should have had the Switch 2 since yesterday morning
- Otto had Hermes fuck it up it seems. Was out for delivery but eventually switched to today
- Amazon still isn't out for delivery
- Waiting in line in the morning at the biggest Saturn around paid off, I arrived at 9:30 for 10 Uhr opening and was number 4 in line. They didn't take any pre-orders and had enough to satisfy probably 30ish people.

I'll not bother with most preorders next time to safe me the hassle of sending them back. But this wasn't it. Good on Nintendo though, didn't expect them to be the ones sticking out positively here.

She genuinely made me question if the game was actually RE9 when I tuned in mid-stream because of how…stylised(?) she looks. Like Claire, Jill, Mia, etc. are all very pretty and a good bit more "perfect" looking than most of the guys are in modern RE but she looks like a step farther than most of them do. The internalized shame is what drives their puritan zealotry against the hypothetical "gooner" who is entirely traditional in his interests. They know the words to form to their critique but not the why of anything, so that's how they make gobs of posts attacking "goonery" while also chanting that sex work is real work and "real" women should never be shamed for anything they do. Then they need an ad hoc explanation for the contradiction rather than simply not imposing a contradiction on things in the first place. Instead they start writing essays about the "female gaze" difference and high femmes as if any of this is determined by anything but the vibes of the local dominant social groups. The critiques aren't honest at two levels, the formerly mentioned and also because the critiques aren't being made to express actually held views to engage in a dialogue, they're about social signaling in hopes of receiving praise for saying the wanted things or simply because others are saying them.
