In Hasan's defense his tweet was in response to Tom Cotton, a sitting US senator, telling his supporters to use their cars to run over protestors if they feel like it. The subtext of Hasan's tweet was "if you don't care about cars killing protestors I don't care if someone assassinates you". I feel like that's a fair point.
