This is a brilliant write-up, and while I did not give it much thought while playing the game, you have completely convinced me how important Astro Bot is to the non-binary community. I will also add that it's great to see a main character that is often clumsy, goofy, and of a general "round" shape, which not only makes Astro adorable but also relatable to so many. I live in a small town, and over the last few years, it's not exaggerating to say that there's more Indians here than Canadians.

All our gas stations and almost all the restaurants are owned by Indians. Almost every worker in the fast food places are Indian college students.

And because they come in such large groups, there's almost no assimilation. It's just India, but in Canada. We went from a manageable number of skilled workers coming here, to a deluge of college-aged kids, in just a few years.

It doesn't really feel like we have a Canadian experience here anymore because of it. It's different in places like Toronto, where there's a large number of different cultures. I'm pro-immigration, but not like this.

Anecdotal, but in my small town type area, we got a metric fuckton of Sikh Indians all of a sudden.

The mods at Reee are not serious people 3 months for pointing out what people who live here can see with their own eyes?

I live in Vancouver and it’s the same here. After covid suddenly all the staff at a lot of the shops downtown were Indian, and not Canadian born Indians but overseas ’students’ at dodgy colleges with BS courses.

It's incredibly lopsided and is creating enclaves where everyone is indian, I went to Walmart the other day and every single staff member was Indian like how is that possible? its a farce. Tim Hortons only seems to hire Indian people. 

Then you have people paying for jobs so they can get their Permanent residence for fast food jobs. Usually through Indian ‘consultants’ who are pocketing a lot of money. 

I moved to Canada 9 years ago and it felt balanced racially, these days not so much. I feel sorry for the Indians who will face the backlash of this. Canada does needs immigration, but if its majority from one country and most will be working in very low paid jobs how is that going to work?

Most people will whisper it but it’s very anti Indian here now. And when people can't find job or affordable housing things will get dicey.

Late, but I went on a road trip in Western Canada this fall and the only place I stopped at that didn't have a clearly new immigrant Indian staff serving me was Boston Pizza and a family owned sit down restaurant.

Stopped at a couple gas stations in tiny rural prairie towns that are 99% white and they had early 20s Indian staff. It's bizarre.

My work gives us Christmas Eve to New Years off every year, and just about everyone takes the days after New Years off to make a full 2 weeks of it. I do have to work on Monday though before the break starts.
