I think this is part of why this migration from US TikTok to Rednote and the ensuing cultural exchange is so wholesome. The people migrating over are more genuine and open to learning about the app and its users, treating Chinese netizens as normal people who can help them navigate the new app, and engaging in shared interests. Instead of it being a bunch of assholes jumping on to the app and screaming "Free Taiwan" or "Uyghur camps" which would just a be a firestorm of atrocity Olympics.

It would also be very rude to join into a new app and then immediately make it more difficult for Chinese users if westerners were all over the app shitting up the place and then the whole app has to go in crisis mode.
