Using it toward another user will result in a severe ban, no less than one month, with a potential permanent ban on the table if the user it is pointed at is a woman.

I don't recall ever seeing someone there call another member a cunt, but if they did I can totally see a situation of someone quickly changing or adding their gender on their profile to get someone a more sever ban.

Yup, going exactly how I figured. They are fine with edgy rape jokes as long as it's targeted towards straight men, especially if they are filthy rich right-wing figures. The classic moral panic does not apply to The Most Acceptable Targets of Criticism™.

Honestly though? Using vague "minorities" as a shield from criticism here is incredibly manipulative, as if those minorities getting targeted don't ALSO need for the majority to be out there. If every priviliged white person who spends their days online spouting how much they hate trump would be out on the streets, there would already be millions of people protesting. In every single country I just mentioned, there are and were minorities suffering. This isn't about any minorities doing anything, this is about the majority getting their asses up. Life has been pretty difficult. I've talked about it here a bit, but basically I was groomed online as a teenager. The experience had a negative effect on me, resulting in severe depression and the belief that I'd done things I didn't do-reprehensible things that turned out to be a complete fiction that I invented, which persisted even until today. Life hasn't been much different since, but I've been going to therapy and come to terms with a lot of it.

But then the other day, I got a warning here for my posts and conduct in a thread, and it made me ask what the hell I'm doing. Why am I acting on information that's flawed and factually untrue? Why am I posting I'm threads for movies I don't even like complaining about Tom Cruise? I realized that I was hurting my reputation here and just being a bad poster.

And it's more than that. I'm not very helpful off the internet either. I've allowed health concerns to swallow my physical activity. I've been a mooch on my friends and unable to hold a job. I haven't been living up to the things I mean to do for enjoyment either, just sitting around feeling sorry for myself.

I've made a resolution. I'm gonna improve my conduct, contribute more instead of criticizing. I'm gonna be more physically active, and actually work constructively instead of hoarding. And I've also decided to go back to school and pursue a different career.

Does anyone have any advice on self improvement? It's all so exciting, but also scary, and I'm worried about getting over my head.

This is about stuff in the gaming forum, but concerns one's overall behavior less than gaming, so... here it is.

I ate a five day ban for the way the discussion went in a Pokemon thread, and honestly, I really deserved it. While I stand by the fact that I think some aspects of that particular matter have their problems, my own behavior was inflammatory and I shouldn't have gone that route. Far too often, my online activity comes down to me looking for a fight, which leads to me not only making snap judgements, it boils things down to black and white and extremities, where I can't see the shades of gray. So I'll equate one bad thing with another, regardless of whether that comparison is apt.

But if it were just that, it wouldn't be as much of a problem. Like I said, I went looking for a fight, and I cared more about winning than respecting others. In the end, I wanted to be right, to feel like I was "winning". It's frankly, disgustingly immature, and what's more, I need to realize I just don't know as much as I think I do.

I've made so many mistakes in my life, and I don't want this to be the kind I keep repeating. So yeah. I'm gonna try to work on it.

I want to preface this by saying that I don't want to hurt myself. When I talk about giving up hope, I mean absolute fucking despair. Just. Stasis of being unable to feel positive.

But my life is a mess right now. I'm fatigued all the time, and I keep getting into shitty arguments because feeling like I'm on the correct side are the only times I feel driven. This led to my eating a ban here because I wouldn't shut up in multiple PalWorld threads and turned it into trolling. Realizing I want to feel "correct" and "superior" all the time has made me feel even more self hatred.

On top of that an uncle I'm really close to is dying and he's gonna suffer in his final days. Then there's the fact I feel stalled in all my hobbies, including writing, which is something I've always wanted to do.

I don't feel like I'm making a positive influence on the world. Can anyone help me?
