I've been playing Cyberpunk and I'm honestly surprised it hasn't come up in this thread more (or maybe I missed it). The scene with the playable Johnny Silverhands flashback having a long first-person sex scene with Art Cunningham and the camera leering all over her (and her getting treated like absolute shit by Johnny, then also damselled/captured and turned into an AI shortly after that) was breath-takingly sexist, and even more infuriating considering this is a game where you are supposed to create your own character and choose your own romance. Yet we're forced to play a misogynistic dirtbag (seriously, he calls so many woman a bitch or a c*nt all the time, including the player if playing female V) ogling and fucking a naked woman in first-person... this is batshit, yet I don't remember any controversy (unlike the AC Odyssey DLC). But, again, maybe I missed it, IDK.

I was given the impression that CDPR had come a long way from the Witcher 1, but I guess not. The part in the intro where you carry a vulnerable naked woman in your arm and the camera focuses on her breasts should probably have given me a hint, though.

Also: Johnny Silverhands is godawful and makes the game worse in every way, change my mind

There is no reason for a game with a character creator to force an unwanted sex scene from the first-person perspective of a straight male. NONE. Don't defend this trash. Hell, it'd be trashy even if there was no character creator. This is PS2 God of War-era level of cringe, except possibly worse.

I just started the quest, "Chipping in" and he's basically raping V by taking over her body and getting her body trashed and fondling and fucking girls (many of which are of course being ogled by the camera). This is of course after he promised he'd only "take over" to talk to Rogue. It's honestly sickening. The game revels in his misogyny and forces the player to endure it. (I reloaded the quest the moment I had to watch my character's body being forced to finger a girl in a car -- I'm not doing this regardless of "quest rewards", what a trashy fucking game.)

As for Art, why should I give a fuck about what the tabletop game does? The game takes plenty of liberties, they didn't have to keep the sexism shit in it. "It's canon" DUDE I DON'T CARE

I don't think you can be a top Twitch streamer and be a good person. I don't mean that as a blanket "all Twitch streamers are shit" thing to pat ourselves on the back for being out of touch, everyone and their mothers streams nowdays and if you look at all streamers of any size you're going to see a spectrum.

But that's just the thing. Streaming is such a hypersaturated market. There are far more people who want to go online and get fame and popularity from not developing any sort of skills that are useful to people in the outside world but just playing video games or something than there is enough audience to support all of them. It seems like a cool job so everybody wants a piece of the pie and we ran out long ago.

Without exaggeration, if most of the people posting in this thread tried their hands in streaming, I'd suspect that they'd get no viewers. Not few viewers, I mean I don't think they'd get a single one. That's how bad the market for streamers is. There are at least tens of thousands of people watching at the moment, but they're most often getting pushed to those same big channels that everybody's watching with millions of followers, meanwhile others stream for years and have nothing to show for it.

So the people who actually succeed on the platform can't do it by just buckling down and working hard. That isn't possible. They do it by networking, sharing whatever audience they have so that the success of one of them lends to the success of all of them. And that's where the whole guilt by association issue that people are talking about comes up. Because Emiru at some point had to recognize that she was surrounded by incredibly toxic people, and her success was tied to these toxic people, and she had the choice of either dropping them and damaging her career or continuing to pretend nothing happened so that she could keep leeching off their success.

And, obviously, she took the fame and success at the cost of her soul. You wouldn't know her if she didn't.
