I don't think there's anyone who will actually pay for strident defenses of Trump from a warped conservative and/or classical liberal lens — the people who want Trump defenses largely don't read anything longer than a few sentences and aren't interested in ideological defenses at all — but publishing it as a Trump suck-up project maybe gets you some favor with Trump that pays off somewhere else. Or it's just an ego project for his own opinions. I dunno. But no way it's not going to bleed money

Trump doesn't read beyond having headlines clipped for him so I'm not sure what the angle is. Unless this is word salad for very blatant Trump propaganda, this serves no real business or political advantage.

I think Bezos has realized that the paper's current trajectory was bound for the graveyard with the rest of print media. The last decade of outrage/clickbait-inspired content likely has gotten the last of its diminishing returns. It's been a failure of a local paper for decades and has been hemorrhaging money in the Trump era despite giving left of center readers an occasional dopamine hit.

Given that WaPo has nothing like the NYT does with games, cooking, or the Athletic to support it, this is probably a hail mary to get some of the market that the WSJ has reliably gotten with business coverage.

I feel better and better about my decision to cancel Amazon prime last year.

Grotesquely rich people in the 20th century in America used to mostly stay in their lane and avoid publicly endorsing political views. Now we have two different billionaires buying major national papers and retooling them to be their personal propaganda machines. We have a third billionaire who has more or less bought his way into the inner circle of the presidency, if not outright controlling policy and decisions. I guess they have so much money that they think they're impervious to any kind of retribution or backlash, and they can buy the propaganda they need to control the masses.

We had a brief moment during Occupy Wall Street where the public had the opportunity to slow the accelerating wealth inequality in this country, but that movement had no central goals and it fell apart.

Now we have returned to a state of 19th century America, where robber barons and oligarchs control the government, control the press, and there's no one to stop them.

 

Personal liberties? Like racial minorities, LGBT, and women's rights? Or is it about the personal liberty to complain about all that? I figure the latter.

Just automate EVERYTHING  

It creates super humans and gives other humans time to pursue different interests than filling out spreadsheets in cubicles. 
I've set a challenge for myself to automate a key part of my job within 2 weeks and I'm already 50% there.

Tommorow I'm having a meeting with a new client and we're basically going to automate their entire business up to the point of delivery.

If AI can handle the small stuff, humans can dream bigger. A lot of things never happen because they're too expensive or too complex with AI costs are dropping rapidly.
