- the JRPG-genre would be in a generally healthier, vastly more successful state had Squaresoft gone with Xenogears as "Final Fantasy 7" as originally planned. I'm upset, because so many good arguments have made over the years for why Goku would be a perfect, justified fit for Smash Bros.. And then Goku-haters/anime-haters say "but no" without any counter to the arguments laid forward. And that's tiring and frustrating. I hate most of the 3rd-party characters in Smash, but I wouldn't tell anyone "that one doesn't belong in Smash" without good arguments. But with Goku, it's somehow okay to dismiss any argument being made.

Like, how is it up for discussion that Goku is THE most impactful, historically and culturally relevant anime-character of all times? Ruffy, Naruto, Ichigo, they all pale in comparison. And calling that "opinion" is dismissive. If mod's allow it, I'd make a poll thread asking which is the most popular anime-character with a selection decided by us (I'd only insist on Goku, you can choose the other options), and I'm sure Goku would win. Goku is a multi-generational, multimedial character who's only canon-story goal is to become the strongest fighter of all. How would he not fit in Smash as a representative of anime-games?

I don't mind Smash having third party characters, but at this point i don't think of it as a Nintendo only game, but a franchise that is a crossover of various franchises with a heavy Nintendo focus...which i prefer if only because no one else is doing mass gaming crossovers aside from maybe Gacha games and gaming isn't just Nintendo.

I would absolutely hate seeing third party characters in Smash gone because, again, there is nothing else like it, that being said, i don't want Goku and Batman in Smash.

Smash became a celebration of gaming...well, more Nintendo and some games that Japan loves for the most part, but still basically the closest thing to it particularly in an AAA market, i like that it's gaming only focused and has only franchises that started in video games.

Come on, let Smash be gaming only characters...also, i miss Project X Zone too but that's pretty much dead it seems like.

And anime-games are a HUGE part of gaming history and deserve a representative, too.

I have no grudge against comic books. Go decide on THE representative for comic books and demand he be added to Smash. However, I doubt you'll find a clear consensus, unlike Goku would be for anime-games.
