United States Politics: ∆τ_i*ε*φ*m_i<0 where ε=4 and φ=0.25
The last few days of Trump Presidency has utterly pissed me off.

Fuck Europe and Canada. They're cunt clinger ons and moochers. But a tariff against the whole world including actual allies that have supported us devoutly like Japan and Korea? What in the fuck. Getting Korea, Japan, and China to all join forces? This is complete retardation and abject failure of leadership.

To top it off I'm utterly sick of Republicans sucking Elon's dick. For years Republicans have had an anti-electric vehicle stance and have always been pro-natural gas. Now they're choking on Tesla dick because Elon is close to Trump's ear. By the same token the libs are hating their beautiful, beautiful Tesla's they so loved all because of Elon. I'm sick to DEATH of the bullshit.

Trump talks of doing a tariff on all imports and I want to get a Honda Civic SI with manual transmission and this FUCK TRUMP IS GOING TO MY RAISE MY PRICES.

Good God. First the President is an Alzheimer's patient that's a puppet and victim of elder abuse and now the President is a schizophrenic lighting up fireworks inside the Oval Office. Meanwhile the Democrats have NO LEADERSHIP WHATSOEVER.

Just tired.

The only American vehicles worth owning are trucks and SUVs.

I don't believe the "innocent people" deported to El Salvador. Sounds like typical media lies. Bet it's the usual liberal crocodile tears fake news.

Halting HIV research and treatment. Didn't know about it. Shame. It should be reversed because it's a good cause.

Annex long-time allies. How is it any different than what US is doing funding Israel? Doesn't make it right, but USA has always expanded - from the Northeast to Hawaii. Trump is just continuing old American tradition. It's hypocritical to live on this land and then wah wah about the Greenland stuff when the history of this nation is literally Manifest Destiny. Doesn't make it right, but if you really cared about that you wouldn't live here. More liberal virtue signaling to try to get you mad about nothing just like the last eight years of Trump. Over it.

No, he didn't. He told everyone he wants to increase taxes on everyone because he hates free trade. He did this in his first term after he spent decades saying it should be done (Trump called for massive tariffs on Japan and opposed NAFTA at the turn of the 90's), was one of the biggest tax increases ever enacted. The man's never lied about this, as JD Vance tweeted, they literally believe mercantilism is legit and that America is too terrible and incompetent to survive capitalism if foreigners are allowed to participate. Stopping free trade has been about the only political stance Trump hasn't ever changed his position on other than his belief that he would be the greatest president ever another position he's held since the 1980's.

Marxists like Trump are endemic in our society, it takes zero time at all to find people who would prefer we're all poorer as long as other people are poorer too. The quickest way to convince people to hurt themselves is tell them that it will hurt someone they've decided to dislike.

You should check how much of it is built in the United States. Its final assemble appears to be in Canada but that was probably because there wasn't a tariff on assembling them there and "re-importing" them if so many components were American made.

There's a reason there's so many Honda plants in the United States and almost none of them sold here come from Japan except the software.

People who just don't believe any lies the cops and their bootlickers give about people whose rights they're violating because they never expect their own rights to be violated since they're the main character and that doesn't happen to our heroes:
Spoiler:  (click to show)

This administration and its supporters on social media/in the media/in Congress/etc. claim that you have no due process rights and the state should be able to do whatever it wants to you. Yet you feel the need to believe they're honest about their victims despite saying it doesn't matter? They openly say they don't give a shit about what happens to anyone including citizens because they don't believe the power of the state should ever be limited, so why would you think they care about innocent people being harmed by their actions rather than just do whatever they want and then lie about the victims after?

They're deliberately refusing to prove their claims and you seem to think that's support for their claims being true. And further you're asking why anyone should give a shit that they're saying they can do this to anyone they want.

Their very argument is that they should be allowed to grab you off the street tomorrow and dump you wherever they want and you have no right to even ask for the charges. As a Black Muslim Socialist with ties to the foreign terrorist group SEGA I'd imagine you might give a bit of a shit about what they're claiming is legal to do.

Yes, I trust that is all completely true, but he also told them that China and all the foreign countries would be paying the tariffs, not American consumers. As you can see, there's primary evidence in this thread of gullible dumbshits believing that prices wouldn't rise because Trump said so.

To be blunt, the immigration stuff doesn’t matter much to most people. It’s one of the pillars Trump ran on and is fulfilling. From others there’s a degree of apathy because Biden’s admin also didn’t have a sensible immigration policy. It’s kinda shocking how much people don’t care.

But the shite economy has even Trump guys bitter. Big fuck up. That’s a better tactic for dems. What was the Biden line about how you can’t eat equality.

Quote:MADISON, Wis. – County judge Susan Crawford has won election to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, according to a race call by the Associated Press.

Crawford defeated Brad Schimel, who received financial support from Elon Musk and an endorsement from President Donald Trump. Her victory means that the nonpartisan court's 4-3 liberal majority will remain in place.

The race was projected to be the most expensive state supreme court election ever by The Brennan Center for Justice, a think tank and democracy advocacy group. Spending by the candidates and their supporters reportedly topped $100 million.

Wis State Supreme Court

Candidate            votes           pct.
Susan Crawford 1,301,128     55.0%
Brad Schimel     1,063,244     45.0%  (Musk's guy)

The other statewide race is for state superintendent. Incumbent Jill Underly was challenged by Brittany Kinser, a former principal and special education teacher. Underly is backed by Democrats and Kinser by Republicans.

Quote:Voter ID question
All Wisconsin voters had to vote on a proposed constitutional amendment regarding the state's Voter ID law:

Photographic identification for voting. Shall section 1m of article III of the constitution be created to require that voters present valid photographic identification verifying their identity in order to vote in any election, subject to exceptions which may be established by law?

Candidate       votes           pct.
Yes             1,435,487      62.8%
No              851,746          37.2%

Voter ID Background
https://statedemocracy.law.wisc.edu/featured/2025/explainer-the-proposed-voter-id-constitutional-amendment-on-wisconsins-april-ballot/
Spoiler:  (click to show)
In 2011, the Republican-controlled Wisconsin legislature enacted a voter ID requirement that is among the strictest in the country. It requires voters to present an acceptable photo ID in order to vote. Acceptable IDs include a range of state, federal, tribal, and student IDs, such as a Wisconsin driver’s license, U.S. passport, or certain university and college IDs. If a voter does not have an acceptable ID at the polling place, they can vote via provisional ballot but must present an acceptable ID to certain election officials by 4 p.m. on the Friday after election day in order for the vote to count.

The 2011 law faced numerous lawsuits that paused its implementation for several years, but the voter ID requirement ultimately survived legal challenges and has been in effect since 2016. No legal challenges are currently pending, but some Republican legislators have raised concerns about possible attempts to overturn the law now that there is a liberal-leaning majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and they have cited those concerns as the motivation for seeking to constitutionalize the voter ID requirement. The proposed amendment passed the legislature on party lines, with Republicans supporting it and Democrats opposing it, and lawmakers chose to place it on the ballot at the same election that will determine whether the state supreme court retains a liberal-leaning majority.

Impact of Proposed Voter ID Amendment
The proposed amendment would not change the current voter ID requirements that are outlined in state law. Instead, if approved by voters, the amendment would make it more difficult for a court or future legislature to walk back the existing requirements.

First, the amendment would limit options for challenging the current voter ID laws in state court. For example, a claim that the state’s voter ID law violates the Wisconsin Constitution’s protections for the right to vote would be far less likely to succeed if the constitution explicitly says that voters must present a photo ID to cast a ballot. Meanwhile, if the amendment is approved, a court would be far more likely to strike down a statute that says voters do not need to provide photo IDs than one that requires them.

Second, by inserting an express photo ID mandate in the state constitution, the amendment would bar future legislatures from repealing the existing requirement altogether, except through another constitutional amendment. In Wisconsin, a proposed amendment must pass the legislature in two successive legislative sessions and then gain approval by voters to take effect. This is typically a more difficult hurdle than a regular bill, although it bears noting that the governor cannot veto proposed constitutional amendments. So when the legislature and governor’s office are controlled by different parties, as is currently the case, constitutional amendments sometimes become a more feasible path for advancing legislative priorities that the governor opposes.

Under the proposed amendment, the legislature could still make some modifications to the state’s current voter ID requirements through conventional lawmaking. Specifically, the amendment authorizes the legislature to (1) “establish acceptable forms of photographic identification” within the listed parameters, (2) dictate the “time and place” at which an elector who casts a provisional ballot would need to present a photo ID to have their ballot count, and (3) “establish exceptions” to the photo ID requirement. Future legislatures could potentially utilize this “exceptions” provision to soften existing statutory requirements, even if they could not do away with photo ID entirely.

TLDR:
Republicans placed the question on the ballot in hopes of protecting the law from being overturned by a liberal-controlled state Supreme Court.

Raising the law to the constitution also makes it difficult for Democrats to get rid of voter ID if they eventually gain a majority in the legislature. They'd have to go through the amendment process again to take it back out of the constitution passing the change two sessions in a row, then putting it to voters.

Anecdotal but the Musk thing made a lot of Trump guys uncomfortable when he started throwing money around trying to buy votes. The rural farmers don't like how much power Trump has given him. Even if they agree with his gutting Government they don't like Musk or his DOGE team of "kids" going through their SS/Medicare benifits.

Treasury Sanctions Houthi Network Procuring Weapons and Commodities from Russia
https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sb0068

Quote:WASHINGTON — Today, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) took action against a network of Houthi financial facilitators and procurement operatives working in coordination with Sa’id al-Jamal, a senior Houthi financial official backed by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force (IRGC-QF). This network has procured tens of millions of dollars’ worth of commodities from Russia, including weapons and sensitive goods, as well as stolen Ukrainian grain, for onward shipment to Houthi-controlled Yemen.  Additionally, OFAC has identified eight digital asset wallets used by the Houthis to transfer funds associated with their activities.

I guess these are the "Russian sanctions" Trump was talking about.
