Why I would want to be involved in an alien war? 

There is a reason why most human companions get phased out after one season in the cartoons/anime or they give reasons of why they would get involved (their parents are scientists or they have superpowers or can fuse with transformers).

I know most people don't read her rants but a lot of her weltanschauung is taking what she thinks other people believe or is true then inverting it. She hates the idea that she can't just be an artist despite not making any effort, we're in capitalism so it must be because of capitalism, so she thinks socialism is where everybody can just do whatever they want, sell their stuff and own property. She sees the wealthy countries are predominantly white (or white adjacent) so it must be because of white supremacy and the proper order would have whites on the bottom. She sees racists say Africa has no culture so she proclaims Europe has no culture. She sees xenophobes/racists say Mexicans or whoever should go back where they came from so she declares that whites and Jews should go back where they belong.

In one of her more revealing posts she described how her mother would tell her she had to be better because she was Black and how this seemed to upturn her world as a child. This isn't absurd or unusual advice that minorities have been giving their children for millennia, ironically it's a major tenet of American Jews, but you can see that Nepenthe took the wrong lesson from this and thought it was some kind of systemic critique that could be addressed with the right violence. I should also note that it's what a lot of women have been telling their daughters for a long time, but despite regularly proclaiming to be a woman Nepenthe also rejects this to declare she must not be a woman because she likes Sonic and Overwatch and whatever instead of Barbies and makeup. (Though she amusingly had a period as a major fan of Asian voice actors treating them as pop idols.)

There's a very clear throughline in her thinking that her personal situation has nothing to do with her own choices and actions and everything to do with an eternal conspiracy that just so happened to align all of human history against her personally. She also thinks she's amazingly worldly and that her actually sheltered experience is what everyone has had, thus her confusion at how nobody else was floored by intellectual content of Need for Speed: Heat's plot or people dismiss that Black Panther was the first movie ever made for Black people. Or her hilarious attempts at "sketching" the post-revolution world. But then she tells you how great binging Bluey is because of how well it tackles life.
