I have bad news about stepping stones to fascism if one of the requirements is that school libraries stock everything ever published and administrators have no discretion in what is on the shelves.

Bluesky isn't decentralized, you have to go through their servers if you use the protocol. Bluesky was funded by Twitter and was part of the company, when Musk bought it he obviously wasn't going to fund a competitor and Dorsey preferred his other protocol.

From what I understand, Bluesky's future monetizing plans are "what Twitter did before Musk." If you actually look at anything about the company they don't have any interest in being some kind of radical anti-capitalist platform, they want to be Twitter circa 2021. (Which I would note was not profitable.)

Mastodon is the decentralized one but no one wanted to study IT just to figure out how to make a tweet*.

Theoretically, relative abundance of food and land compared to the small population in Australia could be the reason indigenous Australians never really progressed past stone age tools and society.

As pointed out in a number of the replies, this is actually a white supremacists theory they're just rephrasing to be negative: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Lynn

That article is gold

Quote:Still, when it came to race, Rodriquez’s hatred seemed reserved for white people.

“Lol you probably would have to actually genocide white people to make this a normal country,” Rodriguez wrote in one post. “Like even a very targeted and selective rehabilitation program would probably have to lead to the lifetime imprisonments of tens of millions of white people.”

Quote:“I’m almost surprised you’re not antisemitic Elias,” a chat member once wrote. “It usually goes hand and hand [sic] with the whole Stalin did nothing wrong mantra,” alluding to Rodriguez’s support for old school communism.

Quote:Rodriguez threw around terms like “dictatorship of the bourgeoisie,” “disgraced aristocrats” and ranted about his own disadvantages in life.

Quote:For example, Rodriguez attacked another member of the chat who he saw as privileged, for lamenting about the challenges of having a brother with schizophrenia. Rodriguez said in posts:

“Why not just have him committed? You can’t possibly be gaining anything from a relationship with a person like that.”

“Just put him in a padded room and forget about him. If there was a person you loved, he’s gone now. Let it go.”

“Can you just chain him in the basement and slide meals under the door?”’

“I’m just tired of hearing about this guy … He’s useless, we get it. Stop complaining and just dispose of him.”

Quote:In all his rage though, Rodriguez had an almost wide-eyed optimism about the global south, which as a self-identified Maoist Third Worldist, he believed alone had “revolutionary potential.”

“He was a big proponent of ‘the emerging resistance axis’ of Russia, Iran, Hezbollah, Assad’s Syria,” a friend recalled. “He seemed pretty vocally in favor of Hamas for years — way before 2023. He’d always hated Israel and would call it ‘The Little Satan.’”

Quote:What is most striking about Rodriguez’s posts and the observations of his friends is the absence of any antisemitic remarks.

Well thank God! Just a batshit insane eugenist tankie!

Did Something Awful nuke its tankie subforum? There was a Ukraine thread in which people were enthusiastically rooting for Russia. And their covid thread made Taylor Lorenz look sane. I'm talking people not leaving their house for 3+ years.  I can't find them anymore.
I remember thinking that if there was one subforum the FBI should monitor, it was that one.

Free speech and liberal tolerance is the path to fascism:

This is why we need an unleashed state that shuts down anyone who doesn't speak in the way it demands and a dishonest "good faith" intellectual culture that abhors dissent of any kind.

Well, I mean he does mention them but he doesn't care anything about their ideology or history. Stanley's entire premise is that fascism is bullying, so he's like see Trump is a bully and the Nazis were bullies. And that's why we need the government to shut them down when they speak, which is not bullying.

Considering Trump is setting the door wide open for "conservative" women who blame men that they systematically ignore, the Democrats have a window.

But the ladies have a point, gen Z men are mostly useless. While gen z women only care about money,  status and stuff.
