Ironically, this is something only a person not capable of much critical thinking would think is intelligent to believe.

edit: I'll elaborate but not too long for a change (I can look shit up if people actually want) but there's a very simple polisci matrix that explains all seeming "puzzles" or "paradoxes" like this in politics. Essentially the answer is concentrated benefits and disparate costs but I forget what the other axis is off the top of my head. Basically, her theory is based on an inverse way any kind of group relations would work, which is why it's not true and never has been in any historical situation. This is also why the Bolsheviks overthrew the Russian Empire despite being a tiny little minority and Mao did the same in China. It's the infantilization that really bothers me. Y'know, I only watched this movie once as a child, but it was called Small Soldiers. It was a Dreamworks film about GI Joe-like action figures vs. monster men action figures. I was playing with the toys before I watched the movie, so I always thought the army dudes were the good guys. Turns out it was the complete opposite and they were actually the bad guys. That's stuck with me ever since. I need to rewatch that film, because my distaste for the military probably stems from that.
