More than anything, I’m disappointed. I’m disappointed with Planescape: Torment for wasting both our times on this drivel. If women really are such shallow and uninteresting creatures, ones only occasionally worthy of having their own names, only good for fucking and dying and even then not doing any actual fucking, why include them in the first place?

And I’m disappointed to see that something this obviously misogynistic has received unchecked blanket praise for so long. It’s an RPG for people who think females, the word spat out like that, don’t belong in the genre unless they’ve got their tits out. Yes, some people were teenagers when they first played it. Or children. Some grown adults weren’t even born when this game came out. They didn’t know better, and that’s OK.

She's a pretty blonde with big boobs and bubbly personality. She's also in Euphoria, and Anyone But You (which she produced and had a very viral marketing)...both R rated show/movie. She also ended up in SNL last year.

But most of all she knows how to play the social media game and has a kickass marketing team who amplify and continually grow her reach further with sponsorship, gossip, stuff like this and what not.

In short, she's basically been a constant presence in feeds of people in their 20s and 30s for the last 2 years...be it men, women, or queer.

Well… the ban for flavored vapes and juices went in the start of year and has now fully taken effect. Went to like 3 stores that had them recently and they all said "yup they checked and we had to stop"… Kind of fucking stupid republicans always say they want less government but when it come for bans there all for it…

I guess since it's a hobby I'm very aware of, but I don't think I see this as much in other hobbies.

For example. The Last of Us is pretty hot right now with those that don't play games. Yeah, there's a lot of critique of S2, but still lots of eyes on it from those outside of the hobby.

I saw a Tiktok of a young woman (gender is also an issue as we know) asking how is the show based on games. She thought games were more free form and not story based and linear. She thought that gamers would have full control of Ellie and that control would lead to different story beats.

This is a pretty common sentiment for non-gamers, in my experience. Many are unaware of high budget narrative games with cutscenes. Especially since the biggest casual games are not narrative based--Fortnite, etc.

So she didn't get how the show was based on the game beat to beat. Again, an innocent question.

But she was flamed like crazy. What's cool is that she ended buying a PS5 and the game. Again it's the internet, grain of salt of right. Everyone is performing for clicks. I think she was sincere personally.

However, the reactions were not faked obviously.

But I see this a lot with those not familar with gaming or new to certain genres. I remember back in the SFIV days. People new to fighting games and SFIV were called 09ers, which was a bit gatekeepy IMO. Why can't we just all be fans? Gotta love SRK forums!

And yes, I know there's gatekeeping energy in others areas. Music is a notorious one for example. But gamers are notoriously online so it becomes even more in scale than other hobbies.

Pedro was carrying it for sure. With him gone, the show lost its anchor. The second game had the same problem but Ellie was more likable because she was nuance and would show vulnerabliity at times as well as kicking ass.

The writing for Ellie in the show is abysmal because they are just mainlining having her all girlbossing combined with horrific dialogue. All of that is not even Bella’s fault. I don’t think she’s a bad actor, but she doesn’t have the skill to elevate the crap she’s being handed

Gotta agree with this. I think the game is an all-timer, but the show is just ok.

They should’ve woven the ellie/abby storylines together for S2 and beyond. That cliffhanger doesn’t actually work as a cliffhanger, because it was never intended to be one. In the game you go straight from Ellie’s side to Abby’s immediately.

For better or worse, it sounds like Druckmann genuinely thinks that only haters and CHuDS hated TLoU2, so he was incentivized to ignore them.
