MGS V was a very busywork kind of game. Better than Death Stranding’s busywork, but still a busywork game that it’s easy for someone to never finish. I never got to see the “end” of the game myself. I got bored with it, and when I found out the game was unfinished, I didn’t have a desire to continue.

This applies to many open world games. MGSV, for being several times longer than any other MGS game, has fewer memorable moments. Argument of emergent gameplay creating unique moments. Sure. I guess. But then it’s that for dozens of hours. After a while you’ve optimized your approach to every encounter, every base, and you’re going through the motions. It needed more missions where you get high from torching weed crops and skrillex plays.

I needed more of the same weird action flick energy you saw in the previous games, instead it’s more like Kojima’s Apocalypse Now, and I’m just not into that. There are moments, but yeah very few, and very far apart. I should go back, and finish. Because I would say I loved it for the first half. Really doing my best to capture almost everyone, but it just felt like the same game, over, and over again without much difference.

Hi all! Simple question, what are old pieces of lore, or concept art, or creative ideas and concepts that you wish stuck around or still were/became canon in the final/latest games/versions?



For example, Tailmon (made famous due to the Digimon Adventure anime) is an adult level cat. I like Tailmon (though prefer Black Tailmon because I like black cats)... But when looking up the creative reason for the gloves I discovered something, Tailmon wasn't originally meant to be a cat, but a Mouse mimicking a cat for protection (Like Caterpillars that mimic snakes... Which side note, I wish we had the snake Pokemon that Caterpie is mimicking). They even shown old concept art of this concept in the Pendulum artbook:



I kind of love that concept and surprised I've note seen that concept before. Would have been interesting if they went that route.

Final Edit – June 2nd

I’ve considered taking this post down, especially with the devastating news of Jonathan Joss’s passing. For now, I’m leaving it up as a record of what happened that night and how I, and many others, processed it. That said, I recognize this post may not have come off with the compassion he deserved. Please know that wasn’t my intention, and I truly regret any part I played in shaping a negative narrative around someone who was clearly struggling. May he rest in peace.

Just got back from the King of the Hill Reunion show at the Paramount in Austin. For the most part, it was a great time—super fun seeing the cast live, lots of laughs, and a packed crowd of fans. But there was one moment that threw the whole thing off.

Partway through the show, Jonathan Joss (voice of John Redcorn) unexpectedly showed up and kind of hijacked the event. He started calling out the cast and saying things like, “They won’t give me a mic to speak on my own show.” It was awkward and honestly pretty uncomfortable. You could tell the cast and the emcee were totally caught off guard, and the energy in the room shifted fast.

To be fair, this wasn’t totally out of nowhere—he posted on Facebook a month ago saying he’d be outside the show polishing shoes for $5. It sounded a little unhinged, but it turns out he’s been going through a really rough time. He apparently lost his house and his dog in a fire about a year ago, and he’s been homeless since then.

Still, crashing the reunion show like that felt… off. It didn’t seem planned or coordinated with the event at all, and whatever point he was trying to make just kind of got lost in the tension. No one really knew how to react, and the show carried on, but there was definitely a weird vibe for the rest of it.

Not trying to pile on the guy—he’s clearly struggling—but the way it went down was just unfortunate for everyone involved. Thought people here might want to know what happened.

While the panel was in full swing, Joss stood up and approached the microphone set up for the Q&A portion of the event, which had not begun yet, an eyewitness in the audience tells PEOPLE. The onlooker says security guards came out at this time.

The eyewitness says audience members "laughed nervously in the crowd" and that King of the Hill co-creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels didn't seem alarmed while others appeared "a bit worried or uncomfortable."

At one point in the video, Judge told the audience Joss played John Redcorn on King of the Hill and was returning for the revival.

"As Joss moved away from the mic to go back to his seat, that's when security told him he had to leave and he exited the theater calmly and cooperatively," the onlooker says, adding that the panel got "back on track" after this.

Another neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, also shared a similar sentiment, saying he "wasn't a good neighbor." She said Joss would "always do erratic things in the street" and claimed "he was God." She said neighbors called the police regarding his behavior; however, nothing occurred.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers have responded to Joss' address on Dorsey Drive over 40 times since January 2024, with calls connected to mental health disturbances, disturbance with neighbors, general disturbances, welfare checks and the fire reported in January. Police did not respond to any calls from February 2 to June 1. Neighbors had said he wasn't seen as much on the property after the fire.

"I'm so sad it had to come to this," she said. "We all knew it was going to end up like this because of his antics. It's sad cause this could have been prevented if he had gotten the help he needed."

The neighbor, who asked to remain anonymous, said Ceja and Joss had been arguing before the shooting. She believes the fatal shooting stemmed from the neighbor being "fed up" with Joss' antics.
