I was almost 500 pounds at one point arround 2013. I always struggled with my weight on and off my whole life, but usually kept it in check and was in good enough shape to be in martial arts for a couple years in the nineties. But after I moved to Canada in 2000, and was unable to do anything because of immigration for three years, and the depression of missing all my friends and family in Michigan, things spiraled way out of control. I finally took a real step towards progress about 2014, but it was slow going. However, I at leat lost about 100 pounds over a decade. The I got real serious, joined a gym a year ago, and diligently started watching my calories. I kept hitting a plateau which was discouraging, and the weight was still coming off a bit slowly. Since Mrch though, I've now lost almost forty pounds. The last couple weeks I've been doing a bit of super low carb diet, and now the weight is melting off. Today I finally reached one of my last major milestones as I am finally under 300 pounds and stand at 298. It felt so gratifying to see that number 2 pop up on the scale. It actually appeared yesterday at 299, but I wanted to give it one more day in case it was a fluctuation of some sort. I was alwasys hoping I could white water raft this summer, and maybe now I can actually do it, as I have been wanting to ever since I did it, yep, 25 years ago.

The Summer Dorito Pope Show was terrible but:

Meh. There's a few things that I'm interested in, but they're getting predictable. Retro-revival #1, retro-revival #2, 2.5D adventure platformer, and not much more. The majority of the new games it wasn't even clear what genre they were.

Do we really need that many grimdark mega violent horror Souls-likes? Do we need that much generic anime titty gacha nonsense? The inspirations are so blatant: hey, Souls-likes are cool so here's another ten Souls-likes, hey, Hades was cool so here's another ten isometric hack'n slash roguelikes, hey, Cuphead was cool so now everything is early 1900's animation, hey, what about a new zombie shooter, hey, someone thought Concord was going to be a thing so here's another retro-inspired garish F2P hero shooter. At least CG studios are getting work, because there was like ten minutes of actual gameplay across that show.

The only real "whoah" moment was the muppet Punch Out. That was something original, at least.
