Oh, damn, she's caught me in another contradiction. There's no way I could oppose all violence and think the culture needs to be changed by challenging the use of it in all instances, guess I just have to accept that violence should always be used to get what I want and then celebrated after it's used.

I think it should be the most easily defensible thing in the world to say on an ostensibly liberal forum, that adults should not physically hit kids. Not white boys, not black girls, not anything in between. I'm sad that Era is so totally captured by the deranged that no one is pointing out the simplicity of their arguments.

They're all arguing in circles that are extremely easily pointed out as stupid. This ass-covering "I don't support corporal punishment" pretty obviously conflicts with separate statements of "my parents beat me, and it worked" and "if someone had done this at home, grandpa wouldn't have to administer education at Tim Hortons". Then people are throwing in stuff like kids yelling in the store as if it is relevant? And it only gets stupider from there.

That doesn't even get into the dude at the end of the video, who slaps the kid from behind out of nowhere. Era says "because he was laughing". Like, it's a pretty explicit admission on the part of these posters that the bar of "Fucking around" can go down really fast...first it was because he assaulted a dying old woman with a ham and cheese, and thus earned his beating. But now he earned a bonus hit because he...laughed? God forbid he stick his tongue out, or say "you're not my dad!". 

This kid is obviously a dickhead. But, unfortunately for the peabrains at Era, adults are expected to have the mental and emotional self-discipline to understand that there are many ways to navigate social situations, including and perhaps especially unpleasant ones. Doing so is more difficult than HULK SMASH, but that's just the burden of being a human who is entrusted to drive a car and smoke a cigarette and vote.
