I had the random idea today and connected the USB power of the mClassic to the USB port on the Switch 2 dock. My vision is close to 20/20 and I'm very sensitive to noticing (note: not the same as withstanding) framerate and resolution differences. Or at least more so than the random bloke on the block who plays games. I think it is actually doing a good job of sprinkling in some secret sauce on top of whatever DLSS magic Nintendo has been doing to achieve really nice edges and lines even without HDMI 2.1 or full-4K resolution games running under the hood. It's kind of impressive, don't you think?

Where I grew up in the summer, people would be outside till the wee hours of the am just living the summer life. We didn't need a reason or a holiday it was just the way things were. Music, kids running up and down the block and just a lively atmosphere. Where I live now...not a peep after 8-9pm unless it's a holiday or an Eagles night game.



It's too quiet out here in the summer. (I couldn't afford to move back to my old neighborhood if I wanted to)

But the most miserable, soul-sucking human being on the entire planet gets the first post (like always):

Can't relate. I was just being irritated last night because my neighbors were having a backyard block party until 10:30 on a Sunday night.

But also, like, where I live, we're so deep in the goddamn woods that kids running around at 2AM is not exactly a good thing. The last thing we need is to wake up on a Wednesday morning and find out some dumbass kid tripped and fell in the swamp and drowned.

There's no point in catering to the 'anti-woke' audience because they are not only deeply unreliable consumers, they also don't represent the general consumers. So catering to their bigoted interests will do more harm than good -- and there's also the chance the chuds will turn on devs trying to make games to their interests due to the shifting definitions of what's woke and what's not (the chuds don't know either because it's all BS).

Honestly, there's an argument to be made that the 'anti-woke' chuds barely play video games -- they're much more about being terminally online and stirring up shit then actually spending time to play game

I'm mainly making this thread because it's been a really consistent issue across this forum as we all get older. For context: I'm 28, and that's probably on the younger side of things here...but also, I was literally the youngest old site member for some time, joining when I just turned 14. I vividly remember the old site saying my age group doesn't care at all about single player games since all we do is play cod and halo with our friends, etc etc...except I had a ton of friends my age who played jrpgs and single player games and multiplayer games - the real difference was the mainstream games with my age group weren't necessarily the same. We had some final fantasy, oblivion, etc, but yeah, very few of my friends will ever touch breath of fire or xenogears or such. Plenty of people my age played a variety of games regardless of the old site heavily implying otherwise and basically acting like the age group was a different species re: game taste just due to a 5-10 year age gap. This has been a conversation ever since multiplayer games got popular basically - the exact same conversations would've applied when I was 14.

I'm bringing this up because now that we're all significantly older, it feels like many people here are barely older than me and are hard generalizing an entire age group again as if they're incapable of playing the stuff we like. Yes, no one who I'm friends with who's 23 has played FFX unless their older brother had a copy, but plenty sure as hell have read danganronpa and adore persona, even if we swear they only play roblox and fortnite. Hell, I have a relative who just turned 16 and he loves xenoblade chronicles and I get confused where they even found the series.

It just feels like a really weird sense of deja vu where we're all slowly becoming the old disconnected group that heavily generalizes an entire generation after being annoyed people did it to us too. Let's try to not have an old man yells at clouds moment just because our favorite series aren't selling as well anymore or are failing to adapt to the times...which honestly is a lot of them. That's a problem with those series, not necessarily them "only playing roblox so we can't get them to try it", and I'm really trying to push back against this generalization. It feels like a scapegoat for whenever a series we like fails to bring in new fans as opposed to simply saying the game wasn't good enough to bring in fans at the level we were hoping for at the expense of actual constructive discussion.

That's a lot closer to revenge than empathy or growth, so I guess it depends on the angle you're going for. Obviously if you were specifically impacted by a person, it's perfectly reasonable to have resentment and to hold onto it, but for the idea of bettering humanity, I'd say allowing people to grow into better people rather than trying to force them to stay bad is the wiser course of action.

Should maybe a strong word in that instance, but it is certainly the wiser approach when speaking generally I'd say, which I assume is what they meant.

My point is simply that it is 100% understandable that some people would not want to give leeway in a situation like this and pontificating about the "wiser path" isn't necessary in response to that idea.
