kind of hard for a 1 day old baby to be a pedophile, like what, is he lusting after a 4 month fetus half his age or what
Back then my rule was half your age, plus 7 (days)

They could do prenatal screenings for the pedophile gene or do brain MRI's once they're born. We have the technology.

Just check if the heart rate of the baby increases near another baby. If so throw it in a pit.

Either it will die or return as a Spartan.

You can just test them for crab DNA.

So I think the schism between officials and electorate is down to;
- from the electorate side, anyone over a certain age fucking knows what terrorism looks like and hamas are fucking terrorists.
- from the official side, I'm not any kind of expert in international law, but if what we call palestine is just part of israel, I don't think anyone can do much about it as technically an internal police action.
I also suspect recognising it is the first step to getting hamas out as their adminstration, and I don't think anyone except hamas would be happy with any kind of peace deal that leaves hamas in charge, including most palestinians.

So why exactly are they expecting white western devs to do this? Wouldn't it be downright problematic and cultural appropriation if they made a native american farming game?

They have a point TBH. In Stardew Valley, you:
-Deforest the entire valley (multiple times)
-Kill all the inhabitants of the mines and extract all the valuables.
-Force the closure of the largest local employer.
-Steal artifacts to put them in a museum.
-Kidnap a child from an exotic island.
-Build a resort on said island and exploit all its arable land for mass commercial farming.
etc.

An extremely problematic game.

Pretty sure they had farming and families and consumption. Likely trade even. Currency.

But what do I know, I've only read about history of the world not labeled everything above nomadic hunter/gather tribes as "colonization" or "white" like the experts.

"Above"? So you're saying there's a hierarchy of civilizations and some are better than others? Sounds about white. ERAsure of the marginalized!

Shouldn't they have like one success to hang their hat on? Going "pay and listen to us. we've been involved in these games nobody has ever heard of." is an assurance you should do exactly the opposite.

Tales of the Shire with 5373 peak player count isn't good enough for you?

It basically sounds like a strange mix of "anything that matters in the modern world was created by the west" and the "noble savage" trope. Like honestly it seems kinda offensive.

All these games tend to have a year that is made up of four months.

Neither Gregor nor Julian would be happy about that.

also boils down to "ugh, you mean practice and performing actions well and efficiently results in success and personal gain?? that's so capitalistic!"

success, even represented simply by navigating past goombas and pits to be celebrated by fireworks at the end of the level, is an anathema of a concept

but the alternative is a game where everything is already unlocked or given to you and there is no challenge or purpose to any of it

almost like...that's an effective little microcosm of what their worldview would do to humanity

Have to say that playing/producing games, enjoying leisure, is pretty fucking capitalist and colonialist. Maybe Sweet Baby Inc. should check their privilege and read some basic theory.

Critiquing other people's art and implying that there's a "wrong" and a "right" way to make art also doesn't sound very decolonized  wag
