I think this doesnt tell the whole story (I also havent read in-depth).
I think some people might forget that gaming isnt just on console or PC.
Especially mobile is alot bigger.
So I guess some people might find those numbers weird as they all are in a bubble where mainly men play certain games.

From my personal experience in friend groups, collegues, university etc.
Its mainly men playing like AAA games and known IPs.
The women rather play mobile games, some Nintendo stuff or trend games like among us back then.

Thats from my experience though.
