the only thing I know about DOA was the time where there were rumblings of a new 3DS hack that didn't require any hardware modification where you could just do it through user generated content that caused a buffer overflow to run arbitrary code and the rumor was it was either DOA or Cubic Ninja so I ordered DOA and then it turned out the game was actually Cubic Ninja so to this day I have this DOA game I don't care about at all that I just bought for the hack but then I also ordered Cubic Ninja and the game suddenly became really hard to find at high prices because everybody was buying it for the hack and then the guy selling it to me had the audacity to message me saying "hey man uh it might take me a while to send it to you, are you sure you still want it, could be a month" because he wanted me to cancel so he could re-list it at a higher price and I said "nah man I'm good, just get it to me whenever you can" and eventually I received it and got the homebrew channel and all that

Pretty sure Max didn't just say it randomly unprompted or something, it's been years but IIRC it was them reciting some tongue twister thing and he accident said it since there was a similar enough word to trip him up.

It wasn't like he got angry and just said it.

I don't have much of an explanation for you for your actual question, but the Max Dood thing was just a very unfortunate result of him spewing random nonsense words to describe an attack in a game he was playing. He pretty much immediately repeated what he actually meant to say, but, you know.

NOPE! Even from the perspective from the censor happy commie lunatics, their harsh banning sprees have NEVER helped their cause. All it really does is give everyone the wrong signals. Ban this rational user for speaking sanity, causing a more insane standard to be set. Let the radicals roam free. Now you create model inmates who feel incentivized to hold their insane moral superiority above others. 

Ban the wrong model inmate though, like Nola, and you get the rest of the radicals salty. Maybe even spark a tiny little revolution where they demand the unbanning of model inmate zero. But that doesn't matter, because they'll just forget later down the line. 

Even when they feel they've got rid of the most problematic of longtime users, even when it looks like they've finally cleaned house after years of culling...... they get offended by something new, and shift the goalpost. Then, no progress has been made. Nothing gets any better.

It's a simple and good lesson to learn; you just can't silence everyone. It'll never work. Democracy and freedom of speech are important.

My post is clear: I don't understand how anyone can be surprised that yet another Democratic frontrunner is really, really old. Literally nothing about this entire situation should be shocking or disappointing to anyone.

Prior to this he was basically the frontrunner, from my understanding. He was this guy who came out of nowhere and captured everyone's imagination.
