These guys are right about the fact that Democrats have no real consistent messaging or anything they believe in as a principle; meanwhile, Republicans are evil, but they actually consistently act on that evil. They stand for something. They're also correct that neither party really gives a shit about people along class lines (because they're both bourgeois capitalist parties), and that we need more class consciousness and to stop getting mired in culture war bullshit. Homeboy was correct in saying that trans people aren't why lending rates are so high.

That being said, the gender war stuff is wrong. A byproduct of Democrats standing for nothing is that they don't actually say anything to actively push men away. They're not saying anything to draw in men either, but like I don't hear actual politicians calling on men to do better about the patriarchy or whatever. That's online bullshit.

That second paragraph is why the democrats and the left have failed so miserably. She is somewhat correct that most capital “D” Democrats of high visibility don’t touch the gender war stuff all that often and it’s also true that most of that rhetoric comes from online warriors and it’s also true that Democrats rarely say anything at all about much of anything. 

So then, if men see a bunch of empty suits on tv saying nothing they are going to listen to the proxy politicians, which right now is an echo chamber of radicalized lunatics who want to burn down the system. Men don’t want that. The only thing men honestly care about (the type of men this discussion revolves around anyway) is that they are able to provide for themselves and their families a little more comfortably next year than they did this year. That’s it. That’s all it’s ever been. If you say anything that puts that goal on the back burner they don’t want you. If you don’t say anything, they don’t want you. If you are more concerned with the poor in the global south than the workers in your own backyard they don’t want you.

Suddenly get a knock on the door. How odd you wondered, you weren't expecting guests (or maybe you were I don't know your private life, don't ruin the story!); but you're a polite fellow and so answer the door.

To your surprise, it wasn't guisers begging for sweets; or friends or family; they weren't even human. In front of you were 13 little Pixies (of Pigsies) from the Cornish Countryside. They were small, the size of your hand, winged, pointy eared and had large black eyes. They gave you a polite bow and entered your your home; with a large plate of seasoned Roast Beef and a little viol; which one of them played as the others danced. Even if you protest (you heartless monster), they refuse to leave and enjoy their Halloween merriment.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time it was 12 Pech from the Scottish Highlands, small little muscly burly Gnome-like Fey as strong as a giant. They also bowed in courteous greeting and brought in with them Barrels of Heather Ale and an accordion, which one of their party played with the pixie.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time it was 11 German Kobolds, small, well groomed and in fine party clothes. They bow and bring in with them bowls of Pretzels and a lute, who one of the parties plays in the growing band in your living room.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time is was 10 Danish Nisse, small with tall point red hats, with the men having long white bushy beards. Like the others, they bow and bring in with them large bowls of hot porridge and a birch trumpet; which one of their party plays in the ever growing band.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time it was 9 English Duergar (Simonside Dwarfs) from Northumberland wearing lambskin coats, moleskin trousers and hats made of moss feathers. They give you a bow, place their pickaxes next to the door and enter with a plate full of Kippers and a Northumbrian smallpipe; which one of their party plays in the ever growing band.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time it was 8 Trow (or Drow) from Orkney. They were small and wore all grey that covered in seaweed. The were grumpy but still gave you a bow and brought with them a tray full of fudge and a Fiddle; which one of their party plays in the ever growing band.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time it was 7 Hobgoblins from the Scottish Borders, all of them in tattered old clothes and carried pipes. They all give a jolly nod and bow; bringing with them a plate full of Shortbread and a clarsach; which one of their party plays in the ever growing band.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time it was 6 Asrai from Cheshire, with webbed feet, blue skin, green hair and very beautiful. They are very shy and nervous (clearly introverts) and bow politely and hide in the corner. They bring a plate of Chester Cheese and a Pibgorn, who one of their party (shyly) plays in the ever growing band.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time it was what first appeared to be 5 Seals before they took off their coats and revealed themselves to be 5 Selkie maidens from Shetland. They bow (and if you're a woman, flirt with you) and bring in with them a big bowl of Mince an' Tatties and a Gue; which one of whom plays in the ever growing band.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time it was 4 Sylphs from Switzerland, Small Air Elementals, invisible except for their small robes. The appear to bow to you and bring with them a big bowl of fondue and a hurdy-gurdy; which one of whom plays in the ever growing band.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time it was 3 Trolls from Norway, hairy, large (seven feet tall) and have big toothy grins. They give you a bow and bring with them a bowl full of meatballs and a bukkehorn; which one of whom plays in the ever growing band.

About 5 minutes later you get another knock on the door, only this time it was 2 Bloody Bones (Tommy Rawheads) from Lancashire, Sentient Skeletons with red raw heads. They do a bow and bring with them a plate fool of Black Pudding and a drum; which one of their party plays in the ever growing band. 

About 5 minutes later you get one final knock on the door and this time is was none other then Cat-sìth himself, the King of all Cats and the leader of this party. He was three feet tall, walked on his hindlegs, wore roguish clothes, had black fur except for the white on his neck and had deep emerald green eyes. He bows and kisses your hand before apologising for the unexpected party.

He rewards you with a magic wish and as he enters, the party goes quiet in respect of their leader. He reveals to you that you have been chosen to be the mortal of their party to help them take back Cat-sìth's domain; the land of Cats in Elfame (Fairy Land) which was taken over by a Cruel and powerful Lich Queen (A reminder that Cat-sìth is known to steal the souls of mortal who displease him). It is a quest of great dangers, that goes through many lands in the Elfame; but the rewards in victory are countless and you'll be helping many thousands of cats.

But first... THEY PARTY!!!!!!

Cat-sìth brought with him a massive plate of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties; and his guitar which he plays in the band along with being the lead singer. The Fey party all night; because tomorrow the serious business begins...

But in case you need reminding, it was Neve Campbell that bowed out because of a pay dispute, not the cast of Scream 6. As such, the cast of the previous movie were brought further front and center to replace Campbell.

These are the facts regardless of how shitty Melissa was treated.

Comparing Neve Campbell, a millionaire, choosing not to do Scream 6 because they weren't paying her what she believed she was worth (which was her prerogative and I supported) to industry-wide striking workers who are not millionaires and trying to get better pay and benefits, is completely ridiculous.

The recent WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes were not done so that people on Neve Campbell's level could get better pay and benefits. They were for the majority of writers and actors who still have to worry about paychecks coming in. Tina Fey was not on the picket line for herself. She was on the picket line for the majority of writers who are not millionaires.

And to say, "Actually, the cast of Scream 6 are the real scabs!" because they decided to do the movie when Neve turned it down in the face of the reason why the poster you replied to used the phrase to describe Scream 7 is actually kind of gross. The cast of Scream 6 did the movie after the previous star of the franchise, a millionaire who is set for life, quit because she felt she deserved more money. The cast of Scream 7 did the movie after the star of the previous two movies in the franchise was fired for using her platform to stand up against genocide. (A decision that, at the time, would the entire career of an up-and-coming actor at risk.)

Those are not the same and even if you agree that Neve deserved to be paid more (as I do), it is completely ridiculous to compare the two and claim that the Scream 6 cast are the actual scabs.

Melissa Barrera was fired for saying "genocide is bad."

It is more than fair to criticize any big name actor who could have passed on Scream 7 and still been very well-off in life but chose to do it anyway. It's a sign of their character that they were able to look at the Barrera situation and think that was fine.
