Some users have pointed out possible bigotry that is accepted in the Discord for Perepiteia. This was something I was not privy to beforehand, and have not personally seen any evidence of outside of some Steam reviews which notate this. It may be worth asking to have Digiphile look into this. They have a contact email on their site, and the Bsky account linked above.

Cautiously interested, but not a good look to have a game like Perepiteia in their very first bundle. The developer's discord server is fairly infamous for transphobic bigotry.

At least you can trade it in for another game, but yeah, a little sus right off the bat. It's not like something that well hidden by word of mouth either, it's something you can even see mentioned in reviews on Steam.

The rest of the cis don't care and there's all kinds of people just happily giving their money. Don't even see any mention of this bigotry anywhere else on the forum, Uzzy even recommended the game back in the PC Gaming OT for January not knowing it was a chud game. This is how terrible things are these days. I'm so tired.

First, Id like him to define “better art,” a term he uses over and over again. What makes one piece of art objectively better than another? Isn’t the value of art recognized by the individual experiencing the work? What is the scale of worst to best that Planet Smasher uses to rank his art? What are the metrics?

Obviously, whether he is being intentional or just stupid, these are terms and questions that can’t be defined or answered. THAT is the nature of art. By filling his argument with nonsense like “better art” he is forming his moral argument by giving objective value to subjective concepts. 

How about this. We use slightly more meaningful language. “AI can create more detailed textures or humans can produce more expressive voice acting.” I’m not saying either of these are true. But at least you can have a conversation around the subject if you start with a meaningful statement

But like most everything they say over there, the “better art” argument is intended to end discussion, not start it.

A janky mess that could be redeemed by having anything other than a trashy discord community & shared attitude by the devs toward gross queer people like me.

I bought this game for cyberpunk anime girls and breakcore. not for this ♥♥♥♥.
There are aspects of this game that while jank/imperfect were really fun to experience and would be super endearing if not for how the devs are.

Honestly liked what I've played of it (Got a bit stuck on the school level due to a lack of ability to save at all in that level

But after learning of Dwyer (also known by Orouboros or Snaketicus)'s opinion on fans of other indie darlings that use gritty "low tech" graphical styles (who just so happen to be of a certain marginalized community currently being attacked in a useless culture war) I cannot recommend supporting the team making this game even if the other 2 people don't share those views.

extremely undercooked POS that barely gets meaningful updates. gotta love devs who spend their time accusing more successful devs of being "groomers" and "cancer" instead of working on their own game. i don't remember the last time i saw a developer try to start a fight with a fan over their art of a game either. truly astounding levels of unprofessionalism, even by indie standards.

Even if I don't use the internet, Gamergate still would've happened.
