The "hire fans" became a meme among left-leaning spaces. Gamingcirclejerk especially became really obsessed with this meme for some reason.

The complaint that ARC Raiders is denying humans work by generating vocals from text inputs - and that this is sooooo fucking egregious it deserves to get clipped major points in a review - applies identically to all Hatsune Miku products, which also artificially generate a vocal performance from text prompts in lieu of hiring VAs.

Arguably more in fact, because ARC Raiders vocal effects are just barks and callouts and not fundamentally an integral part of teh gameplay experience, where the Hatsune Miku games are wholly built around a vocal gameplay performance mechanic.

Okay, I’m not going to pretend to get the technical aspects of this programs, but the initial vocaloid program has not machine learning… it was a voice synthesizer. Current iterations seem to have to a degree. And it sounds to be an arc riders situation anyway.

You can criticize them if they still support VocaloidProducers if they decry stuff like Arc Raiders, but two things:
